Just got a ticket for the Friday night prelim and going as a neutral observer. I hope they both smash each other! I hope that the winner of the Sat night prelim wins the flag but I acknowledge it's very unlikely. Order of preference Dogs, Saints, Who cares.

Haven't liked (mild word!) Collingwood since doing school in Melb and discovering that kids chose them cause they didn't have the intellect to pick anyone else. Don't really like the Dogs - not sure why - but very unimpressed with Eade's antics in the coach's box - makes Roosy look like a real gentlemen - which of course he is. Geelong's OK, but they've had their time in the sun - last thing I want is a team who wins several years in a row - thank goodness for the draft - and also couldn't stand the gloating.

Actually I'm quite fond of the Saints - one of my "teams I don't mind if they're not playing the Swans" teams - and I certainly am not yet over my Schneiderman crush - so I'm very keen for them to take the flag.

I don't understand the animosity against the Saints that I read on this forum. What's the deal? Maybe cause I'm not in Melb, but I've never heard anything more negative about them than any of the others, except of course the Pies.

Or (so help me Kirky) Joffa in his gold jacket. And also... it means the filth have NOT ostensibly improved on last year, despite finishing a game-and-a-half clear on top, and the questions remain, the doubts sink in, the ghosts of GF's past reveal themselves again in all their glory. Oh please... oh please....

Note that I have immediately discounted the opinion of any swan fan who doesn't live in Melbourne because you have NO IDEA what it will be like - the city will be virtually uninhabitable unless you're wearing moccies and a wife beater (and you beat your wife).

By virtue of the fact that Geelong have won it 2/3 it's not a novelty so yes, whilst the comparisons to "best team ever" will be up for discussion it's fair enough and better than any other story about Collingwood winning it. The press will run out of steam in a fortnight if the cats win but if Pies win the flag it will be a staple item on every media outlet EVERY DAY until at least the commencement of 2011.

Next I want Saints to win it.

(No mention of the fact that my gf is a huge Cat fan, so if they win i win too. So to speak...)

No argument from me - you are bang on the money - Could anyone honestly put up with the constant media coverage if the pies win ??? I know I couldnt and I live in Sydney so god help the poor folk of Melbourne - I'm with you moco - GO CATS!!!
