I heard a rumor today that Paul Bevan was seeking a trade to a Melbourne based club, because he wasn't happy about being dropped for the Semi Final against the dogs. Has anybody else heard about this?

My God what were we thinking. That would have to be one of the worst top 20 draft picks of the last decade, it's up there with the eagles taking Tom Swift at pick 20.

Since we took McVeigh in 2002 with pick 5, our record is

            2003 pick 16 Willoughby - dud
2004 pick 15 Jolly traded in - win
            2005 pick 19 Ted traded in - ?
            2006 pick 15 O'Keefe - dud
            2007 pick 11 Ves - dud/going?
2008 pick 12 Johnston - jury is out but looks hopeful
2009 pick 6 Rohan - win, could be a big win

If we can trade Bevan (that is somebody wants him) ,then we should go for it. He will not be in our best 22 next year and I don't see him getting faster by leg or in decision making. I liked him near our goals(never the oppositions!) but the selectors dropped him after he did quite well there ! Very confusing but it shows his future will not be too bright if he stays.

                  Only about 20 times.

Left Club Champion dinner as soon as official ceremonies finished. Probably go to St Kilda for a bag of lemons to suck on. They will trade 5th Rd pick or Kosi. Same result.

                  Thanks Paul and goodbye.

Are you aware of any players who didn't rock up to the dinner?

Also noticed Orreal was there, did you see Thornton or Gilchrist?

I know I was pretty pissed at the time but I'm sure I saw Bevo about 12.30ish whilst I was kicking on with Wardy and Yuri just outside the ballroom. Anyone confirm otherwise I'll just assume it was the ghost of Bluetongue Brewery.

Bit dissapointed about Vez, had really hoped he worked his butt off this year and broke through. Also a bit dissapointed about bevo if he goes, i really thought he was coming on nicely, much improved on the last few years. Would be pleased with Everitt but not Tiller and would hope to get Sherman.

Am wondering if Swans are doing the Vez deal with dogs to try make it more difficult for dogs to land Sherman, especially when they have only the compensation pick 26 to deal with (if they can trade that not sure)

If we take Everitt for Vez they will possibly trade Hill aswell but not sure if Brisbane would take hill or dogs would part with hill and pick). If that all makes sense?

Not true I am afraid, sat near Bevo and had a long chat way after formalities finished...Thornton was there, well gone at around 12.3o, don't know Gilchrist, Orreal looked lost and sad, Vez was also worse for wear late-ish.

I am surprised Brisbane is not trading for a whole list. They have fair dinkum lost the plot. Hand the SPOON to them now.

Orreal was only ever a long shot and he did get a longer term injury.

Too drunk to introduce me to Yuri. You bad man!

I think I heard Primmy say that she saw him leave early so I stand or sit to be corrected. Did see Vez, looking alot like Big Al.
