I wouldn't mind either if I lived in Melbourne.
I'm glad now that I didn't go yesterday and the Club Champion Dinner is preventing me from going next week.In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.Comment

I can understand that. But each year not everyone who wants to go can go, so this is just the same really (in fact it probably means more people will have the opportunity to attend the / a GF).
I didn't go to the game, but it would have been an awesome match to attend (like the first Anzac Day match, which was a draw). I would think that this would be one of those GF's where the amount of people who actually did attend increases over the years - it was a classic!Comment

That was the most bizarre experience. I really enjoyed the day and particularly to not feel that tension when your side is in it. But man oh man - was on the edge of my seat! Great game but felt so flat afterwards and a bit ripped off that I didn't get to see the fans of one side going off and enjoying that amazing winning feeling.
Not sure if I favour extra time or a replay. Might be good to have it decided on the day.
As for the anthem that was a heap of poo. There was NO atmosphere when it was being sung - was pathetic. Not quite as crap as INXS but not far off it.
THought the whole entertainment was pretty crap.Last edited by Lucky Knickers; 26 September 2010, 07:16 PM.Comment

The non football season is a week shorter. There is a seamless transition to trade week is another positive.I disagree - there are several positives :
1)We get to see another GF !
2)Some folks who missed out may get a chance of a ticket for the replay
3)Some players who missed out may get a chance to take part.
(Mc.Evoy - you're IN . Presti - hmmm.... maybe .)
3)Schneider and Dempster are on world-record pace for most AFL GF's in a career :-)Comment

But they didn't leave disappointed because they didn't lose. If that was us and we came back for a draw I would be ecstatic.I went to the game yesterday with my dad and brother. Sat next to two Saints fans who drove from Perth, people behind us blew $4K on seeing them, so many stories. Still reeling from it though, never quite experienced anything like it in my life, leaving the G with 100,000 quiet people after a GF. Still feels surreal.Comment

I'm with you on that, but there are always casualties (especially interstate, work shift swaps etc), who were moments away from seeing their team win a premiership. It's a remarkable event.Comment
