Yep. Joey was consistently good nearly every game. With Goodsy they were either BOG performances or didn't rate at all IMO.

          Round 21 v Bulldogs, SCG.

BEST: Bolton, Dennis-Lane, Jack, Kirk, Meredith, McVeigh

Kirk and Roos last game at the SCG. People sensed it would be a special night.
Cooney went out early with a hamstring, but the swans are playing with renewed vigour. After quarter time the Swans took control of the game and kicked away. The dogs scored the last of the half, and the next 2 of the 2nd half to get within 15 points, but once Jude's snap bounced at right angles for the most unlikely goal, you new the ball was bouncing their way.
Jetta kicked a career high 2 goals!!

Must've been the great meal that had been cooked by the Junior Masterchefs during the week.

          Dennis-Lane kicked 4.
Swans by 44, and move into 5th spot.

          12-9-0.

          Round 22 v Brisbane, Gabba.

BEST: Jack, Malceski, Mattner, Kirk, McVeigh, O?Keefe

With no Mumford (knee), it was left to Pyke to take on the rucking duties, and soldiered on admirably with 33 HO's.
Dennis-Lane again filled the forward role well, while Jack increased his work rate to be on the verge of being an elite midfielder with another outstanding performance. Staker kept Goodes on a leash barely letting him see the ball, but the rest of the team fought on and never let the lions near a victory.

Dennis-Lane and Jack kicked 3 goals.
Swans by 38 points, and securing 5th spot and a home final.

            Ooohhhh, it is exciting now.
Did Keiran do enough in the first half of the Blues game to get 4 or more points and will Josh take too many votes away from him to get 4 in the second game?

Will JK get the double, 5 points in each final, he deserves (and keep Aardvark sated)?

On that, what about next year the votes for finals are worth double?

              Elimination Final v Carlton, ANZ.

              BEST: N Malceski J Kennedy J McVeigh T Dennis-Lane N Smith B Kirk.

The game opened up quite quickly with Sydney kicking the first 4 goals, through Jack, O'Keefe, Shaw and White.
However, finals weren't meant to be easy and the blues stung the swans with 3 in a row themselves, to be back in the hunt.
Dennis-Lane kicked his first to stem the tide back towards the swans and Goodes also kept the scoreboard ticking over for the swans to lead by 15 points at the first change. Dennis-Lane, again, and the Jetta opened up the lead again before the blues hit back. Bevan (2) and Shaw made sur ethe swans would lead at half time by what would seem a comfortable 4 goals at half time. The blues would not lay day, and through the ever impressive Judd, the blues stormed back into the game kicking 5 unanswered goals. The swans were looking tired and were now 7 points down, possibly one quarter of footy left in 2010.
The game stagnated for most of the last quarter as both teams were desperate not to let the other score. After chasing down a loose ball, Dennis-Lane sprang to his feet ran towards goal, as White put the ball into his path, and the score was now tied. Almost 10 minutes later O'Keefe swooped on a loose ball and stretched the swans lead. Then with a desperate run out of the swans goals square Dennis-Lane completed the tackle of the game, to bring down Armfield and win a free shot on goal to stretch the lead to 12. But the blues were desperate and scrambled the ball through for a goal to reduce the margin to 6 points with 1 minute left. With 30 seconds left, Henderson took a mark right on 50, and handballed it off to Garlett whose shot missed. The swans kicked out, Malceski banged it long to space, and Hannebery tied it up, as the siren went.

              Dennis-Lane kicked 4, Bevan 3.
Swans by 5, and move on to play a Semi Final.

              14-9-0.

No use dragging it out any longer.

                Semi Final v Bulldogs, MCG.

BEST: Goodes, Kennelly, Kennedy, McVeigh, Jack, Malceski, Mattner, Kirk.

Pretty much goal for goal and point for point in the first qtr as both teams were feeling each other out.
Bradshaw was finally back, and he opened his account in the first quarter, thanks to a bulleet like pass from Malceski.
5 Goals to none, and the swans had broken the dogs game apart, 5 individual goal scorers.
An uncustomary dropped mark from Grundy gifted Hall his 2nd goal, quickly followed by another reduced the lead to just under 3 goals at the main break. The Dogs struck the first blow of the 3rd term to reduce the margin again, just as the swans wer about to hit there first The dogs pressure got the better of them, and scored again. Back to a 4 point lead. The dogs scored again, and the swans could only manage points, some easy shots at that. Scores locked with one quarter to go. The dogs again struck early. After alomst 50 minutes Bradshaw got his 3rd goal. Dogs by a point.
Two more goals to the dogs before a pin point pass, saw Jetta outmark 2 opponents. Dogs by 7, 5 minutes to go.
The swans managed another behind from a booming left footer from Malceski. With minutes to go, the swans surged the ball into the goal square but Goodes was unable to get the boot to the ball, as it was punched through for a behind. 5 points behind. Just over a minute left.
This would be the last score of the night as the dogs played keepings off.
Goodbye Kirk. Goodbye Roos. Thanks for the memories!!

                Bradshaw 3, Shaw 2, Goodes 2
                Dogs by 5.
