I swear the Brewongle shifted on it's foundations in 1996 with everyone jumping up and down and hugging. Fair to say a few beverages were consumed that night.
yeah 96 was the first time my sisters kids ever came to the footy with me - they hadnt a clue of what it could be like - and they loved it. Bay 1 was a rockin too!!!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

It is Christmas time and in the tradition of the Christmas Carol, I will be Ebenezor Scrooge and say:

And it's not even sung by the Eagles. Now that is stingy!

Bah humbug to anyone who complains!

He may be able to walk under most coffee tables, but little Benny McGlynn is undeniably one of the toughest characters on the Swans list.

                Funny, isn't it.

'Moments' . . . i get the attraction to both the plugger and the nick davis moment and have the same reaction as everyone else.

'Games' . . . another story. I still watch that whole match against Port in the 03 final and love every single second. But I do think the goal to Cresswell that follows Leo and Wanganeen's collision is one of the great moments. Not a conclusion, but a moment just the same. What a chain of play.

Probably need half a dozen strong cocktails before they do that.

Santa gets pulled over for speeding and the highway patrolman says: "Hey Santa what are you doing with a pair of women's undergarment? "

                  Santa said: " It's OK, they're Carols"

Cleaned the joke up abit for the website.

I'm with you. this is my all time favourite game (shame on me, even over the GF....) and I have a spare copy just in case my day to day copy gets splattered somehow. I love it. But my favourite moment is Stuey's 60 meter bomb out of the centre square that bounced through. You could see the boys knew they would win then. No, hang on, I think I will change that. Jude's right foot running goal of the inside of his boot and the stunned reaction from the crowd and commentators.....then again Cressa's .....and definitely He got up, He just got up! Its a delicious game.

Ah yes as far as full games are concerned the 03 semi is hard to beat. I'll always remember David Parkin tipping Port to win by 100. I mean the nerve of the @@@@@, it was 1st v 4th for goodness sake. It was also version 1 of the "I see it but I don't believe" from Anthony Hudson. This reminiscing is good for the soul isn't it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but....upon Jude's goal, did not one Anthony Hudson say "I see it, but I don't believe it"?

BTW youtube the last few seconds of Geelong game with Garry Lyon and co commentating. GOLD GOLD GOLD GOLD!!! One of the commentators just going "NO, NO,NO,NO,NO,NO" through the whole last minute....(Rex?)

Lastly, as a professional singer and vocal coach of 20 years standing...I can categorically state (IMHO!) that John Farnham is the best contemporary singer ever. His technique is unmatched by anyone else on the planet. Anyone. Just so you know...and even if you don't his songs (or his hair or his persona) you can't change the facts.

Yes it was after the Jude goal...

That 3AW call is brilliant ( I miss Clinton Grybas). Not sure who it was that was saying no but it added to the feeling that an incredible and improbable escape had just happened. Loved Rexs comment:

Johnny has always been an over singer....but as I get older.......it doesnt bug me as much............he is a great guy, he loves what he does, gives 110% and hits some awesome notes........

love that version by LRB and John ...........one of his best.

I have it on my IPod and I don't think I've been on a long flight in the past five years when I haven't watched it at least once. It was my favourite call but I love Malcolm Blight's sense of wonder as he says "How good was that?" for that incredible push towards the goal. Was it Leo who brought Nathan Ablett (?) down when he was just about to break free?

How much of our Premiership joy lives on because each game getting there was remarkable? It certainly gave us a finals season to savour for years to come. Or at least until the 2011 Flag boxed set comes out.
