They don't have suitable lights at Optus Oval to play in the dark so have to stat early.

It would also be a condition of Adelaide travelling that they can get a flight back that night.

In the end it's a practice game for the clubs and whether supporters or interested general public can attend or not doesn't come into it.

The AFL also confirmed the next round of NAB Challenge fixtures, with Gold Coast and the Sydney Swans doing battle at Southport,

Funniest comment of the year so far. Battling over the change rooms?

Hmm I 'll be up in Brisbane over the weekend but will not be free on Saturday afternoon!! D'oh!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Will definitely try if we get there. Taking our very energetic 20 month old son so updates might be interrupted chasing him around.

It may be a rematch, but it's under proper, regular season rules at least. I'm so glad that losing to Collingwood meant we didn't have to travel this week....

Shame to see Johnston go out, would be good to see him play another game.
But the IN's are going to be good to watch and see where they are at.

Now it is no longer NAB Cup, how many can we play? Is it 18 plus X interchanges plus X substitutes or whatever they call them?

NAB Challenge Match Day Information - Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

Does anyone have any info as to whether this will be covered on Fox what channel etc? or any other TV networks?

                        Cheers

Being a practice match I would doubt there would be any TV coverage.

I am a Sharks member (not a Swans member) - There is only so much money to go around.
Looks like I am going to miss this one now. For a while there I was excited to see the boys play.

At least I have had that.
