The Swans are my newly adopted team.
Well if you like close finishes and action packed footy, you've picked a good team to follow mate! What a great two games of footy for you to see as your first two games!

I'll be the first to say it. Marty was very very lucky not to be penalised for 'in the back' on Stanton.

On another matter - and not in a queer, mardi gras, la di da kinda way you understand - I think I love Sam Reid.

Gee I hope not.... that kid is going to be something special. If only Jesse could take a contested mark like Sammy more often then he would be set. Reid is going to be something ery very good I think!

That win doesn't erase the pain from that horrible 2001 loss to the Bombers but helps soothe it somewhat

I haven't seen the match yet, got it taped to watch tonight. I did however notice this snippet on the Swans website "BEST Sydney Swans: Goodes, Bevan, Bolton, McGlynn, O?Keefe, Grundy, Hannebery"

Oh where art thou Bevo bashers?

Was he really second best for the Swans?

                          Fantastic fighting last quarter.
Goodes into the centre after half time gave us extra punch forward.

Love the game plan. It gives our forwards lots of chances and makes for a great game to watch
Remember every Swans members kit has heart tabs included.
Sam Reid is a star. Hopefully only jarred the shoulder late in the third.

Great Win !! (over the previous week ladder leaders !!!)

They must have forgotten Nick Smith was playing. Was superb all game. Bevo was ok but not in my best. Gees Mattner was very good too. Like most people I thought our disposal let us down a lot but the tackling and harassing in the last quater was first class. We as good as worried Essendon out of it.

Mind you Essendon look a pretty good side at the moment. They didn't shirk it one bit but what I liked was our backs were stuck to their players like glue in the dying moments and refused to give them an inch. 35 frees to us against 20 to the Bombers is a big turnaround. I bet their supporters are spewing at that.

                              My two bobs.

                              - Thought Bevan was really good. He was hard at it and kicked straight. I think he is a better player in the forward line and I think we look better when he is in it.
                              - Reid is rather good. Dare I say, there is something Reiwoldt (of the Nick variety) about him, but has a thumping kick. With the sub rule, there are more kicks to packs and his pack marking is sight to behold. His should didn't look too bad to me.
                              - Thought Grundy and Jetta both fought back in the second half after both had a poor first half. Bolton was just fantastic. He's evergreen.
                              - Agree the move of Goodes to the centre was the game changer.
                              - McGlynn, Teddy, Mattner, Hannebury Mcglynn and Jack were all good. Mummy was a complete workhorse - just kept competing all day. Next week, I think either Seaby or Pyke has to come in - probably the former.
                              - Thought that McVeigh had a shocker, but not sure how his direct opponent played. Kennedy can and will lift in weeks to come. White started well but faded. He is, though, doing his job.

Our major problem is that our backline way too open. Tightened up after half time, but first half, Essendon had a very high conversion efficiency.

Overall, very pleased. Was a game I half expected we would drop.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

A win is a win I guess, but I'd be happy if we didn't have to play at that ground again.

I reckon we lose 3 goals playing there as against the SCG.

Goodesy played a great game imho but Bolton and McGlynn are two blokes I admire so much - not fast or tall but tough as nails and took their chances today.

Mumford - a huge game from him - Pykey might come in next week methinks.
