Must have been a great night in Perth
it's still a great night in Perth. The Perth Swans supporters are a really committed bunch, really good people. Nice to quieten the Weagles supporters-it makes the workplace so much easier for the rest of us for the next week.
Typical Perth though, gave best on ground to Dean Cox for the naval (HMAS Sydney) commemorative medal. No way was he better than Goodesy. Still winning, even with a fair goal disallowed, is the ultimate victory.

Just finished watching the replay of the second half and Reid was on the ground, walking around shaking hands with other players and not a hint of a limp or grimace. Hopefully it was just fatigue and soreness for the young kid on such a large ground.

Bit surprised at that one actually but it proves that hitouts don't necessarily mean a lot.

Yep I should check H/O to advantage....still a worry when Mummy is off the ground. Can he keep playing that game time all year ?

Leigh Matthews' theory is HOs are the most useless stat....

The big stat from tonight's game is I-50s - we lost 38-43. How many teams have won a game with fewer than 40 entries?

A satisfying win. We played over the top of them in the last 15 minutes. I wonder if RC's Indian clubs helped.

Lots of great cameos - Jetta's goal and boundary run, White's goal, Rohan's and Everitt's marks and goals. Goodes and Mummford were sensational in the last quarter. Shaw played his best game for awhile.

I can see why they picked Alex J - cool head, good skills.

We made a lot of unforced turnovers, though. especially in the first half. Reg's disposal was shocking all game

Second spot is the prize if we beat the Cats next week.

On the other side of the world and logging onto the news of a Swans win against the Evils in Perth was just the best way to start the day!

I was proud of Jesse; he is not a world beater, but he was at the contest, he worked, he blocked and I send him a big splodgy snog.

Dunno about Peb, I was ready to tear up his contract - could just have been my heart monitor - and its not as though he was alone with some of his crap disposal.
Smiffy, bless the bloke. that was quite a head knock. He is just plain good at this game.
Did you note that Glass was tagging our Sam? What a compliment. Took Glass out of the game......well done Sam.
                  WHY did I trade Joey!!!!!!!
There were some amazing tackles; some amazing tagging; this is one of those games you HAVE to watch again with the heart monitor off, just to actually see what was happening off the ball. Bless the day I live with recording devices. It must have been hell prior to the 1970s!!!

And just to add a little note: How come 37,000 or so is a large crowd in W.A. and a small crowd in Sydney? I'm just asking,......

Yes, I thought I heard the commentators (SEN) say this and dismissed it as the usual ignorant rubbish. But I'm delighted to hear he did the job, and that's the long and the short of it.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Well has anyone noticed that we won by 13 and Everitt wears 13?

Totally useless information but then it is Sunday morning.

Sensational win, and I see the wisdom of Horse requiring both-end versatility.

Last week important goals and pressure from Bevan (and Rohan);this week Everitt (and Shaw, again).

But it will be pleasing to have LRT available as a big bodied defender as a rock to that back 6. Ted must be exhausted - as with the other contributors mentioned.

                          From the following story:

But it was then all Goodes and the dual Brownlow Medallist provided inspiration after a second-half move from forward to the midfield and, despite some heavy attention from Eagles tagger Adam Selwood, created several opportunities and found the goals twice in the final quarter to build a Sydney comeback

It is starting to become a weekly paragraph cut and paste for the media.
