Fair call, as it had the potential to to be a game changer, but it doesn't hide the fact we are playing very inconsistent footy atm.

I wasn't aware of that. Even with his injured ankle he was able to quell Judd's influence.

No he wasn't - he is still limping and ROK has been on Judd since Jack went off

Didn't Jack play on Judd in the first half?

Very very strange that Jack was considered OK to come back on but was sent to the forward line as a lurker - means we had too many big blokes on the bench...

Pissed of at this game more than most as I honestly think Carlton are very ordinary. Two sides left in it this year - C & G - thats it I'm afraid.

I think the last two games have certainly exposed our lack of basic footy skills, we seem to make so many fundamental errors.

Jack's injury and the interchange kerfuffle hurt, but we should have kicked at least three goals in the second quarter. As against Melbourne, we couldn't press home the advantage.

Bevo had a shocker, but I was more disappointed with Everitt. The sub is an important role but we got very little out of him.

On the upside, Moore and Kennelly were great on their return. I thought Kennedy and Mumford were our best. Richards was pretty good up back - he's a marking machine. Reid showed he can play KPP in the back half as well as in the front.

I lost count of the overhead pack marks Goodes went for. Hhe missed every one. In those conditions, why bother?

That old whipping boy Teddy Richards played OK tonight - he seems to be one of the rare ones who gets better as they age. Although Waite must be the biggest whinger in the comp.

I honestly dont think its worth trying to fit LRT back in - he is not going to improve and if Grundy comes back we are Ok in our backline.

Totally agree with this, not a night for the spectacular.

That's my big complaint about that .... What is ridiculous about it is that it clearly didn't have any impact on the play.... it was between bounces and - why the hell should that be a gift of a goal to the opposition. If you have a 19th player on the field and he is involved in the play, then that is a different story. But when its such a minor 'infringment' (even though it sounds like it wasn't) its a real killer- and at a key point in the game as it really gave them some added momentum to that they were building.

Very disappointing result again- the effort is there, but our skills (More so when it was dry in the 3rd quarter then in the wet) are simply not good enough and my big worry is that we have too many players that don't think in front of the play.... i.e. they follow the ball and that is it. Far too many times we got a bit of clean ball/possession from a tight situation only to kick it out to an area where there was no swans players to be seen.

If we hadn't of wasted our chances in the 2nd term we could of killed the game there and then however.... we still miss far too many easy shots at goal.

We really need to win down here next week against the Dogs- if we don't then we are looking at an uphill battle just to make the eight- the four already looks all but gone imo- unfortunately the good work of last year seems to have disappeared down a hole somewhere (along with our skills!). Bevan was awful tonight, and his terrible error just before the goal to put Carlton 2 goals up really empitomises why he should NEVER EVER EVER EVER again play down back. Jetta should have a spell in the Ressies as well imo, although tonight was never really going to suit him.

Teddy seems to be revelling in defence this year. Played some great games.
