God I hate listening to Bruce go on about Judd. I reckon Bruce should have been going down the aisle in a white dress the way he salivates. And how he'd enjoy a white dress

Agreed Kennedy, Mumford, Teddy, Kennelly, Mcglynn were probably my best 5.

Yep they would be my 5 best as well. McVeigh got a bit of ball but as has been the norm this year did very little with it- and imo his 2nd and 3rd efforts when playing up forward are not good enough from a guy who is a co-captain of the club- he has been immensly disappointing this year.

Weren't many after those 5, although Moore did some nice things.

Yep ScottH - Teddy is improving beyond what I thought he was capable of. He is rarely beaten 1 on 1 and has the best left hand punch of a right footer i've ever seen if that makes sense.

Jeez I'm glad we recruited Kennedy - he is a champ.

We don't seem to have that killer instinct to really grab the game. We get a couple of goals ahead and start messing around. Look forward to a lot of close games this year..

Our best included Mummy, McVeigh, Kennedy, McGlynn, Kennelly. Shaw, Moore, Reid, Hannebery, Goodes and Mattner were useful, Teddy marked and spoiled wonderfully well but kicked horribly.
Smithy had a night to forget, Bevo was played out of position, Everitt was played in position but offered little tonight. It's becoming clearer that the sub needs to be a running player who can be part of the midfield rotation plus go either forward or back.
And we need the skills to play an open brand of footy as well as shutting down when required.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Very true.... I'm not sure its an instinct thing, more a 'complete lack of good kicking skill' thing. It should have been game over by half time tonight- just like we could of rolled Melbourne in RD1 had we not wasted our chances. I don't care so much if we miss from tight angles/difficult kicks- but some of the misses tonight and all season have been absolutely criminal. You have to take your chances when they come, if not you more often than not are made to pay for it- especially in close games. I can just feel it being a season where we end up sneaking into the 8 or something but having 4 or 5 losses where we have lost in a close one where better skills . Our skills seem to have gone backwards rapidly since last season. Tonight is not a good example as it was always going to be untidy, but still there were some very poor skill errors out there tonight. What tonight did show is just how much we are missing Kirk in the middle- not so much for his clearance work etc, but some decent leadership in there. Bolton tries hard, but we desperately need a Kirk like General in the scrap urging the troops on. Time for one of those boys in there to step up and take on that role.

I heard myself using both those phrases for much of the night.

Oh yes - especially the former. He is a great player. So is our bloke a lot of the time!

Hey dimelb, not disputing most of your best but, McVeigh isn't giving enough this year. In fact, I would be slightly embarassed if he was the sole captain of the Swans. Goodesy I can live with easily - macca needs a LOT more consistency.

                                So frustrated right now.

Bevan should never wear the guernsey again. Bird is too slow and the decision to play Pyke was a poor one.
