I dont know who said it, but i thought Pyke was okay tonight, particularly considering the conditions. And, we saw what Mummy might be capable of going forward, so White can go, Pyke can stay, and lets see how our forward line works with those monsters rolling through there. Maybe a TDL and/or LJ in too for a Bevo and Bird.

p.s. Mcveigh and Hanners needed to stand up last night, and they did, which is encouraging, yet we still lost. I dont think ive ever been more upset about a loss since 2006. ( LOUD SWEARING!!!!!! )

I agree with this and would go so far as to try a new set up.I know he is a champion ruckman but we have Pyke and Seaby. Why not Mumford a KPP forward(Bye Bye White) and Pyke and seaby to carry the Rucks. That makes us very tall i know and I believe that is a good thing!

Agreed! White to go and rotate Mummy and Pyke through FF. Grundy back in and Everitt out. Everitt? EVERITT?!? What other team has a non-impact player as a sub?!? Bevan out (because Moore is back in) and TDL or even Lamb in to replace him - for goodness sake, let's get a specialist forward up there! And it is time to give Jetts the role of sub - he doesnt see enough of the ball in a full match but his pace would rip them apart in the last quarter (if he could kick straight).

Agree with this except I'd give Jetta another chance and bring Parker in for Moore as the Sub.

Selection may depend upon how the Dogs line up, as with no Hall, there may not be enough tall match ups down back.

                Ins:

                TDL, Grundy, Parker

                Outs:

                Bevan, White, Everitt,

                Then start up forward:

                TDL Pyke McGlynn
                Bolton Reid McVeigh

                And down back:

                Kennelly Richards Mattner
                Smith Grundy Shaw

                Moore as sub.

                  Ins: TDL, Grundy

                  Outs: Everitt, Jetta

Was thinking that with Baz not playing this week, Grundy might be given another week off, or would be brought in at the expense of White or Reid (in order to not have too tall a team). But Liam Jones and Jarrad Grant are good quality young players who Ted and Reg will match up on. So that sorts that out.

Jetta needs a few games in the 2's in a row to dominate and rack up 30 plus possies. Boost his confidence. Really does look like he gets down on himself during games when he makes a mistake. Give him a few weeks in the 2's and given he plays well, he'll be ready to go a few weeks from now. I'm not prepared to give up on him (like some Swans fans I've spoken to have) based on his best football that I've seen. That was last year in the SF vs the Dogs where he was sensational. If he can reproduce that consistently, we have a player of definite substance.

I'd love to see Lewis Johnston and Luke Parker get game time soon (it sounds like they are going very well in the 2's) but I don't think this will be the week, for Johnston at least. Parker I can see coming in in the next few weeks if he keeps playing well in the 2's.

Don't understand what exactly Craig Bird did wrong. Thought he was more than serviceable. He is best 22 easily IMO.

Bird is always going to struggle in my opinion in the big time as his disposal is iffy and he is slow. However, he is good at getting in and under- we should be looking to mould him into a new Kirky (i.e. the Man always at the bottom of the pack). I have no doubt he could play that role very well indeed.

I can't believe some people would honestly be giving up on jetta- he has struggled this season, but he is clearly a confidence player, and he has the potential to be a sensational player. He does however need imo to go back to the 2nds for a few weeks to get his hand on the ball, kick some goals, run a bit and get that confidence back.

I'd give Jetta a rest along with White, with Grundy and TDL to come in, and maybe Moore to the Sub role instead of Everitt with Everitt going out to be replaced by Parker maybe?

Jack is reported to have an ankle medial ligament strain and may be out for 2 weeks. Goodsy is reported to be struggling with a left groin/hip issue but will probably play anyway. ( Could be why he didn't spend much time in the Mid friday night.)

Ah, that explains a bit about Goodes. I hope he recovers. We're going to need him if Jack is out.

Agree with most of what's been said above. Time for White to reacquaint himself with Canberra. Bevan started the season well but is too error-prone and we need to give someone else a chance - TDL or LJ.

Pyke's game was pretty good on Fri but Seaby might be a consideration because of his ability to kick goals.

Everitt was rubbish against Carlton but he's still our best option as sub because of his versatility. Plus,if he's not going to turn it up against his old club he never will.

It seems almost certain that Kizza will be missing. So in addition to replacing those with poor form there are injury problems to address as well.
If Grundy and or Johnson are fit that will release Sam Reid to go forward ? taking perpetual underperformer Jessie White?s place. For a small forward I?d prefer a talented goalkicker in TDL to a dedicated and hard tackling but talentless Bevan. Our forward line currently lacks somebody with the brains and footy smarts to find space. Bevan has neither.
I think the country atmosphere at Manuka will really help Uncle show us what he can do, and though his toughness in close is in some question he has to be in the box seat to come in for Jack.
Everitt had zero/negative impact when he came on ? the similar sized LJ, who has done stints in the backline must be given a chance at some time.
                          Out: Jack(inj), Everitt, Bevan, White
In: Sumner, Johnston, Dennis Lane, Grundy

Johnston is almost a shoo in for his debut IMHO. I think he would be a good matchup for another LJ Liam Jones

With KJ out Luke Parker should debut

i dont like everitt as a sub, he either starts or he doesnt play. I find it odd he played that great game forward but hasnt been sent back there much, if at all since. I just want to see changes in structure more than anything else, just set up the forward line and delivery a lot better. Watching the dogs now they will lose to the pies, but they look a lot sharper than we do at the moment
