I agree with this but would add giving Jetta a few weeks in the two's to regain his touch. Luke Parker could replace him.It is obvious we need players who can not only kick goals but snare them many different ways. TDL is such a player . LJ is a beautiful kick too but he is being groomed as a defender unfortunately IMO.
Goal kicking is not just the skill of kicking straight.Skilled forwards know where the goals are and can craft goals from nothing.Thats an inate talent which you either have or don't. Geelong has Stevie J,The Pies have Didak and remember what Betts did to us.

Unless injuries force it, no changes this week. Calling for Bird to go out is ridiculous. He was great on Murphy when he was playing across HB and has been doing a great job as a run-with/contested player this year.

Parker and Johnston sound like they are pushing really hard for call-ups, but will probably have to wait a week or two longer.

If Pyke is forced out, it will be White back in straight away you would think.

Didn't do enough yesterday to earn a recall. Rather Seaby or Currie before White.

Given where we are this year and given that Bolton and Rok are being a little exposed for speed stil (yet great in their dominant areas of the game) I believe we need to fast track Luke Parker. He is a hard nut and I honestly believe he wouldnt look out of place the next few weeks against non top 4 type teams

We have come this far with Jetta we have to persist. He has more upside I am sure of it....... There are plenty of players given his wing role who took 3 seasons to be dominant and if worse comes to worse Rohan comes back and plays his role.

              Out: Moore
              In: Parker

              Sub: Gordon

I disagree with using Gordon as a sub. He's not an impact player, he's a gut-running accumulator. His endurance is his main asset. He's also quite good defensively, so he should be given a concrete job on a single opposition player for the entire game. If he plays, he plays the full game.

yep its a big call but I do think Parker has more upside in the middle then Gordon. Flash showed enough that he could come on and add spark no worries.

Parker ranked very highly on the beep test in the Draft camp. Top 5 from memory and I know that Flash is equal with Hannes on the 3km race.

Parker can also run all day also and I think is neck and neck with Gordon now for a spot............but is much more of a footballer then Gordon and some 3 years younger !

Dont get me wrong though I am rooting for Gordon all the way.........

You beat me to it! Gordon's main attribute is his stamina, not pace, so he should be on for the entire game, not as an impact player.

i agree with you both but my suggestion of Parker in and not as a Sub is better for the team in the medium to long term and hopefully the next game..............I feel Gordon as a Sub has minimal effect on the team in the short term. He could do it on his ear and Parker could play 70% of the game in the middle potentially better then Flash

It's not a case of Parker vs Nipper for the sub though. They should both play full games, though I'd back Parker to have more impact as a sub as he could be injected straight into the guts and play a full quarter when others are tiring.

fair points but who would be your Sub..........until we see Parker play in Seniors it is a difficult call but I saw a bit in Gordon that could help with impact upfront if needed with Parker I see a 10 yr player in the limited times I have seen him live.

For me........... I like our rotation at the moment and with Mal and LRT not far away I am gunning for Shaw, Mattner and Smithy playing more upfield minutes so that AJ and Everitt can stay in the team. I like Goodes on the ball more now and Everitt allows that as a genuine option by Andrejs playing alot of minutes in the forwards.

We are playing with ROK and Jude in the HF line alot and I think we need the Everitt experiment to continue to free up Goods and allow Bolts and Rok to rotate still on the ball when needed.

With the return of LRT I think we could use Shaw as a sub. He can play forward or back ,he can have an immediate impact and can gut run for a quarter. The problem to date seems that all our impact players are needed to play the full game.Shaw could provide a spark.

And who would do the roles that he's been doing well so far this season while he is sitting on the pine for the first three quarters? He has been used largely in defensive roles thus far, either in the backline or sometimes in midfield. We don't have many others with his pace, stature and endurance who could cover what he's been providing. It is all very well to want to play a sub capable of "having an impact" but you have to rule out the most important role players or it becomes a little pointless.

I think this idea has merit, but I'd prefer the sort of player I've mentioned before: Jetta, Rohan when fit, Gordon etc.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
