They are genuine because they actually have some forwards. We have to rely on stopping anyone else from kicking ten goals to win. They can still win if their opponents kick fifteen.

It's time to recognize the limitations of the side - which I love they compete and scrap and never give in. But they simply can't score enough goals to beat any of the really strong clubs.

Has anyone got the stats on set shots between them and us. I'd be surprised if it wasn't them 10.4 or so and us 3.5 with three oof. Before the game started I watched mummy having shots at goal and he missed everyone of them sliding to the left but at least they were behinds. In the game it is simply confidence sapping to get the ball inside and get no return from it.

Tony Shaw on 3AW gave Judd a vote. He had 23 stats but he gave him the vote because he kicked a goal and had 4 goal assists. There were plenty more Carlton players way above him in the pecking order today. He gave 2 to Kruezer and 3 to Murphy. By the way how many frees did Murphy get for deliberately ducking his head into an opponent. One day he will get his block knocked off and some poor bugger will get suspended.

I found it incredibly frustrating to watch -I think there is a reasonably good chance that Murphy himself had more frees than the entire swans side at one point. In one sense that showed how often he got the ball, but in another the umpiring bordered on the one sided. I for one hate the current interpretation which appears to be just keep the ball going by whatever means and thereby encourage players to drop or throw it remarkably in the direction of a teammate and penalize whatever the player who actually goes and get it does if they cant just drop the ball.

The channel seven commentary was worse.

McAvaney: Dennis, how bloody good is Judd?

Commetti: He is amazing Bruce, just amazing.

Repeat for five minutes, even though he wasn't impacting the game.

I have no idea. They also made some crack about North Melbourne players travelling in the cargo section of planes? If I was a north supporter I would've been a bit annoyed at that.

Melbourne full forward from the late 50's early 60's. Big bugger who just stood his ground and took marks then kicked goals.

BTW - I turned off the telecast at half time - just couldn't see any way we could get into the game.

todays game reminded me about an old late show sketch that no one will know what im talking about but it was mick molloy and tony martin with the phrase, "whats all that about"

fits i reckon, graham and the colonol would be better commentators too.

That was a pathetic effort from sydney today, yeah they were outclassed, but there was nothing much to be excited about after the 7 minute mark.

Lost at the selection table again. Longmire, never ever play 2 full time ruckman in the same side. The sub-rule makes that impossible.
Its the 2nd time we've done it this season,, and the second time its been a failure.

Hopefully Mummy gets a break to avoid another longmire brain fade.

And Bob became even more well known when he played in the VFA later on when he was a tub of lard, but stood in the square and took marks and fended off players like he was swatting flies.

It shows how irrelevant to today's game these blokes have become. I wouldn't have thought Cometti or McAvaney saw Johnson play because they came from different states. If they did they were likely only whipper snappers.
