I agree. I think it's the best we can hope for with our current list. If not this combination, what else could be tried?

If Richards is in, then it's Everitt, with LRT as the ruckman/FF.

If Richards is out, then it's probably White and TDL, with LRT in defence.

Or, one out of left field, if Richards is out they could decide to blood Currie as a ruckman/FF, moving LRT to defence.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

I don't often get the chance to see the seconds but Sumner has been consistently in the best recently. Although he didn't shine in round 1 in the firsts, in the few games I have seen him in the twos he has looked lively. I think he deserves another chance and if so should be given more than one game.

I believe he has the talent to do it and no is the time to settle him at FF, as he is our only natural option.

The other glaring structural issue up front is getting both TDL and Moore back into the forward kine. TDL is a natural space finder, can take an overhead mark and kicks well which is what we lack at present in that mid size forward.

Moore is a natural crumber, clever in the use of the footy and above all seems to be able to organise those around him.

Outside of that if Ted is out, LRT goes back and possibly Pyke for Mummy.

In some ways i'm glad we probably have a few forced changes - now's the time to try a few different things.

The best thing is we have some options - I'd be happy with any of White, TDL, Moore and even Currie or Johnston in and it can only be more exciting than what was dished up last week!

geeese if anyone can lead down the ground like Andrew Walker yesterday and then follow up play like a midfielder can we have one of those............the guy was too much to handle...........if LJ has the fitness for that role its time to lock and load

OUT: Mummy suspended and Richards hurt ?

IN: White upfront and pinch hitting ie starting from the bench and TDL as an easy target for our midfield...........I am very tempted to give Parker a go against a team like Collingwood as he also has a very dangerous lead from the forward line when rested up there

If white and LRT are both in they should only ruck in the forward and back 50's respectively. White gets wasted when he goes into the centre, and LRT rucks very very average

What ever his role, if he gets the chance he needs to really grab the bull by the horns, if he is going to become a regular in the top 22.

Pray to the volcano gods, everyone....it's our only hope.
There will be no flights to Sydney after 3pm today because of the volcano, so if it erupts again later this week, the draw scenario might come into play for real.

However, I doubt Collingwood would let us off the hook that easily. They'd probably be willing to walk to Sydney to play us.

Can you imagine the convoy up the Hume Highway Friday arvo. Car theft figures through the roof in the Collingwood area. The NSW police would set up road blocks at the border.

It's expected to clear on Thursday so it may just disrupt their preparation. When would they normally fly up?

Usually the day before. They would have to make some sort of decision on Thursday, otherwise they'll probably organise a coach for Friday. They wouldn't want to risk conceding 2 points to us by not coming.

I am not optimistic enough to hope for the "ash" draw; nor that any Swans forward line would get much of a workout from numerous inside 50's from our mid field this week.

LRT to defence and Currie for Mumford.

I think the most interesting thing this weekend will be how the Carlton defenders cope with the Eagles tall forward line - that will surely reflect both on our selection policy, and how/where we coach our forwards to play.

And that, to me, is the big problem with White, he doesn't seem to know how to.
