Bring back TDL?

Step 2 - Fail
I really can't see them bringing TDL in if he has match fitness issues, especially if they are bringing back Jack, Malceski and Smith plus retaining Bird who all had injury issues of their own last week.Comment

Come and watch a reserves game and you'll realise why they need to use other criteria to assess whether the good form would translate to the AFL. Example: You're a coach, what do you do in this scenario, Player kicks 15 goals against virtual witches hats but is a passenger in the 4th Qtr because he couldn't run the game out. Also you note during the game his unwilligness to chase and tackle to make sure the defenders don't take the ball away with ease and set up play down the ground. Does this player come in to your team the next week??
Have already said that in my opinion TDL has got to a point where he has done what has been asked and probably deserves a recall.
It was more of a comment at the competition. I know there are no other options.
That said, he's a goal kicker...as long as he's kicking goals. The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.Comment

Trent Dennis-Lane, who was pencilled in to return to the seniors against the Suns this week, could not be added to the team because he hurt his foot before training this morning.
Longmire said it was an unfortunate injury, and a scan tomorrow would reveal its extent.
Dennis-Lane initially injured his foot during the reserves game last week but was able to do some training on Tuesday. However he hurt it again this morning and was unable to take the field for the all-important final training session of the week.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

No TDL in ressies ?? - What a great idea - lets give him some match conditioning via the emergency role for the seniors. Great for his fitness and should run him into form sitting watching a whole day of footy !!!

That's a bit premature. He was listed to play for the ressies but was a late withdrawal, for all we know his foot might have flared up again.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!Comment

He was 'withdrawn' yesterday and the other 2 emergencies played full games which is quite unusual if one of them was to be the precautionary emergency. Didn't spot him watching the game either like the other injured players Everitt, Johnston, Currie and Haren which could mean he was preparing like the othe 22 senior players. Although not seeing him doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't there as I didn't see Sumner, Rohan or Lamb etiher.Comment

All I can tell you from Bay 30 is that TDL was in full kit at the top of the race when the seniors were warming up 5min before the game.10100111001 ;-)Comment

I was sitting next to a lady who does the boundary commentating for ABC I think. I lose count these days. She had in her notes that TDL was indeed an emergency for us in the Seniors, but of course alas for us noone got injured in the warmup, hence why he didn't play. We could have used him a hell of a lot too.Comment

My conspiracy theory:
If it was pouring an hour before the match, they would have snuck him in and withdrawn one of the talls. As it was, it was quite clear at noon and so they stuck with the original selected lineup. However this leaves him in the awkward position of having no game time in either seniors of reserves for 2 weeks and at a severe disadvantage for selection next week.Comment
