Longmire last week talked up the fact that the swans are a great defensive side and that they've focused on defence since he took over.

Well whens the time to work on offence and breaking the lines?
And picking White to play is like going into a game a man down. And what about the treatment of Seaby?
Of course we';re all so much more knowledgable that the coaching staff.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

The guy has been in charge for less than a season. Has us in the 8 (just). has a relatively youthful list. Is building after losing 2 stalwarts last year.
People are quick to blame the coach. Especially after a loss.

Turn it up - Horse deserves the job and deserves two years before a proper assessment can be made. Had we kicked straighter then we'd've beaten Collingwood and Adelaide and not so many would be whinging.

Horse has inherited a fantastic list with a lot of potential. His coaching won't get the best out of them.

So no-one should have an opinion unless weve played or coached at afl level is that right?May as well shutdown the forum then, how can any of us have an opinion on any swans matters as we dont know as much as the coach.

We wont make the 8 at all if we keep going the way we are,and with the team we have we should be in the 8 youth or not.

So dropping Seaby when he's hit form is a smart move is it?
Playing White is great thinking by Horse?
Jetta being the sub time and again is good thinking as well i guess?
Kennelly continuing to get a game regardless of form is a good message to send to the young guys in the reserves isnt it.

hey today we got ripped off all agreed!
as for horse and squad.. we have a brand new team with heaps of first year players, plus key forward and defender retiring mid season with no contribution.
if we can make finals and get some finals experience to youngsters, then horse would've done well for first year with this line up

I thought today Horse was a bit of a one trick pony. He does not make a lot of positional changes or react that well to what the other coaches do. Today Reid was double teamed and he did not attempt to stop it. We continued all day to bomb the ball into the forward line to no avail. The forward line was getting smashed for most of the game and we had 3 bigs in White, Reid with LRT. LRT was the only forward to show much. Need to move players thru the forward line in short term rotations to break things up.

guys dont forget rohan loss either
seriously he was winning us games as a super sub before injury
that blistering raw pace to break the line is what we lack and rohan gives it

What annoyed me was that LRT would kick a goal and then get moved to the ruck or bench. No consistency.

I think it's fair to ask you why? Bare statements unsupported are pretty much a waste of time. So could you explain your reasons for saying it?

If you bothered to read my previous posts you will have seen plenty of examples. To get you started, here is a few:

                          - Poor sub selections that have actually cost us games (Demons, Crows)
                          - Taking too long to make changes (eg Grundy getting flogged by Cloke and not moving him, Shaw getting flogged by Rioli)
                          - Playing players out of position - LRT at Full Forward, Jessie White in the ruck
                          - Selecting players on reputation, not form
                          - Being focussed more on tackling then kicking goals (no games for TDL)
                          - Having a lack of forward structure all year
                          - Consistently pcking 3 tall forwards on wet days
                          - Dropping Seaby

I don't like to bash the coach, especially so early in a rebuilding period, and it is not the coach who kicks the ball, but.....our setups, our starts, our match day coaching, our selections all worry me. Our skills are largely appalling. Our forward line is extremely poor. We play Jetta (almost) every week but other players do not get a start, reputedly, because of the pressure side of their game (Jetta pressure, yeah right). We are not a top eight side this year so throw in Lewis J, Meredith, TDL Heath let's see if they have it, if not get rid of them. Kennelly is not sure if he wants to play on I am sure, go home. If we are rebuilding let's bloody well rebuild now.
Sports do not build character. They reveal it....Heywood Broun

I always turn to the sports pages first, which record people's accomplishments. The front page has nothing but man's failures......Earl Warren

Who are you thinking here Captain?

I guess the forward structure is an issue but you can't magic one up with a wand. I think Horse has tweaked and tried to find something that functions. It hasn't worked but that is more about cattle than effort from the coaches.

I agree that 3 talls today was just silly.
