No, we won't - If they are so pissed off that asking for a transfer at draft time or a yes to GWS is a better prospect. The younguns you are talking about have to like it here first ... and where can you see them have the time of their life right now to want to continue this next year?

Whose dissatisfied and how do you know they're dissatisfied?? Didn't Rohan just sign an extension so he's pretty happy. They had a red hot crack last week in the game of the year an there was no talk of player dissatisfaction after that.

I also see no drop off from the Reserves youngsters. Quite the opposite actually.

Have a look at the date on that post. That was during a debate from weeks ago. Obviously an "academic" like yourself (as you like to call yourself) has yet to complete Proof Reading 101.

we have a list mostly built of young developing players with a couple of older players doing more than their share of the heavy lifting and teaching the younger players a lot with the limited time they have left. next year we will have a very strong but young engine room with a spine from grundy to reid starting to form.

yet this will not be a premiership side, probably not a top four and maybe not top 8. get used to it, enjoy the wins and the development and give longmire the chance to build something in the next two or three years that might just be able to compete at the top level of sport in this country.

wasn't the game plan, it was clearly the players..They didn't get out of 2nd gear all day and were found wanting at the clearances.
Plain and simple the Tigers wanted to win more than we did.
I ahve to say Jets and Tadgh have to play ressies.
The only thing i would question with the coaching staff is Luke Parker as the sub and Nick Mal not in the seniors...
other than that the players have to take FULL repsonsibility for that effort

I'll tell you why people on here are "carping"... Because they've been watching a mediocre team produce mediocre results since 2006. Some good wins , some bad losses , finishing in and around the 8...
.. And it's certainly not all Longmires fault.
It's more to do with Roos and the lack of drafting and developement of young players from 2007 till now.
During that period we drafted (generally badly except 2009) the minimum number of players, and refused to get the pain of rebuilding over with.
Roos philosophy of never bottoming out has led to year after year of mediocrity......It's worn out it's welcome.
As much as I admire our teams general hardness and competitiveness, which has kept us in and about the 8, we haven't improved relative to the other teams.
In Longmires' defence, he has at least introduced plenty of youngsters this year.
And I imagine that will continue next year....Unfortunately the rebuilding has only just begun...
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MT

We shouldn't forget that Roos coached us to 70 point thrashing against the Demons and was Senior coach last year when Richmond came from behind to snatch a famous win for themselves.

He also was in charge when imploded against the Dogs in the Semi Final we should have won. I'm not giving these examples to bag out Roosy, just giving them to remind everyone that sometimes players are @@@@ing useless and their own worst enemies.

Give horse a chance to prove his credentials. It's unfair to be calling for his head first year.

John Longmire deserves a lot more time to prove himself.
22 years ago , Man U fans wanted Alex Ferguson out . After countless trophies , including two Europen Champions titles , they have forgiven him.
Horse may not become a new Matthews or Barassi (or Ferguson!) but let's be supportive and patient.

The bunch of plodders wearing red and white that ran out on to the MCG today would make Matthews, Barassi, Ferguson, any decent coach, look ordinary.

I still find it utterly extraordinary that a coach in his first year would have supporters wanting him to be sacked. Especially a side that's in the the redevelopment stage. Is it that people have become spoilt with success since pretty much 1996 that they can't handle the down times??? (Although we're still in the 8 and we're not Melbourne or Port Adelaide ).
