Sad tho that it's almost true.
    Indeed.

I remember when I was at uni there was a proposal for a day where students dressed up as they would for their future profession.

I didn't mind, since I had a suit, but I wondered if Maccas could spare that many uniforms for the Arts students.

A bit harsh. Many arts students have gone on to have successful careers delivering pizza.

Why do you have to rely on a spell check if you are doing a degree?. It's easy. Like this:

        1. Type it;
        2. Read it:
        3. Correct spelling if you find it.

Writing 101 would teach you that the secret to good writing is lots of re-writing.

Youngsters today rely on spell checks and calculators like oldsters are relying on viagra. Only one is really necessary.

Wheres all the Longmire love for not playing too tall in the wet and for not playing white . Surely in one foul swoop he has answered everyones prayers with this inspired selection of bolton over white.

About a month or so ago at work I toddled into the kitchen area and there were a couple of grads in their early 20s- I was just in time to hear one say "have you ever taken viagra?", the other one said "no" and the first one said "I did on the weekend, it was crazy- and..." then they spotted me standing there with my tea cup and a raised eyebrow. The poor guy turned positively scarlet.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

At last, someone using this chat for football. After all the ego stroking, wise cracking ,time wasting by the pseudo experts on everything we finally have a football discussion point. It almost seems out of order!

I think you are right but it is also swapping a dud for a real footballer. If Mick Malthouse was coaching the Swans what would he do with White? If his expressions from the coaching box are anything to go by there would be some "inreresting " interactions!

Foul swoop: Elizabethan term for an unsavoury crowd.

Excrutio: 'Sirrah, methinks I'd roll not with that group
For verily they be a most foul swoop.'
'Honour's Merrie Turn', William Shakespeare, Act IV. lines 45-47

Very rightly pointed out: it should be "fell swoop" and is probably relating to the slipping and falling the Swans do on a wet track. MacDuff didn't know his birds anyway as the line before is "What, all my pretty chickens" not Swans. Let's just hope the Dogs' goose is cooked tomorrow.

I feel guilty cos i think I started the BA nonsense on a footy forum, but I may as well have the last word before Liz or someone bans us all..
A 'fell swoop' refers to the power dive made by a falcon or a hawk or a kite as it swoops on its prey..

WTF are you people taking about.

In other news it has finally stopped raining. It might start again at any time but it has actually stopped for the first time in a few days.

I bet "foul swoop" was a Microsoft checker correction - maybe as a reference to a diving chicken? That's archaic of course as one M Lloyd has retired.

Buckenarra was coach & we took to being the kicking boy of the comp. I only asked the promotions department to clear up the matter of Byron leaving by giving a general reason unlike giving no reason. You also decide to attack people here on a personal level. What are your credentials if you are so knowledgable? Be upfront & give some idea as to your experience. I don't know the workings of the club but I am a supporter & want the Swans to not just survive in Sydney but flourish. My idea of a flourishing club is for the coaching staff to have more idea about coaching their team than the opposition & as far as I'm concerned this year other than a few lucky wins & one big one we could be in the bottom half.
Where do I start. No, I'm not a Geelong supporter but was sarcastically given the name "The Big Cat" due to my moves in a basketball team known as the Panthers. I am a fourth generation Swans supporter and spent many years playing footy and even longer attending South Melbourne/Sydney Matches. (Just to get into the swing of recent threads, I have an honours degree in Economics plus two post graduate university qualifications. And these were obtained in an era where about 20% of kids even did Year 12, and of these 33% compulsorily had to fail. So you needed to be in the top 13% of students to even get into uni. A far cry from the "demonstrate a pulse and you've got a degree" standards of today. Now back to footy! Again I say (for the umpteenth time) that I have no beef with people who criticise aspects of the players performance. What I have a beef with is the assumption that this, ipso facto, means it is all the coach's fault. Plus the assumption that the coaches are not trying to remedy the weaknesses.
