It's interesting that the players are accepting their responsibility for the loss but some fans aren't. They were insipid and pathetic and there seemed a lot more passion in the box than on the ground.
That's just it Go Swannies, the players did accept responsibility & we know they did because they did it publicly & therefore we don't need to rail against them any more than we did after the match in the match thread, when the nicest thing said was they were pathetic. But Johnny boy and the coaching staff have never taken any responsibility for this loss or any loss this year. Hardwicke out-coached Longmire last week it was obvious & Longmire's only solution, the FLOOD (abandoned after Grant Thomas retired). Take responsibility JOHN stop the blame game & get some respect back!

Did you even watch the game????Do you ever watch a game?????
I wonder because so many of your comments are so far off the mark it's laughable!
The players have taken responsibility for sunday because THE PLAYERS WERE CRAP! I have no idea who the greatest coach in the world has ever been nor what sport he was associated with, but whomever it was, he would NOT HAVE CHANGED SUNDAYS RESULT!!!! The players were flat, in most part showed no heart, lacked run and were soft.
Criticise the coaching panel for the lack of motivation or not getting their heads in the right place perhaps, but stop going on about the bloody game plan - Collingwoods game plan wouldn't have succeeded with us on Sunday, sometimes it IS the players fault.
Oh also, as Go Swannies said, we haven't been a shepherding team for the last ten years so don't blame that one on Longmire.

Beautifully put Jewels. Somehow I don't think it will influence those who seem to be on a blinkered crusade against a first year coach of a developing team.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I want us to trade back Vez.

There's not enough talk about fitness around here since the days of Nicky D and Vez.

When coaching schoolboy sides and a team started to get on a roll and kick consecutive goals against us the team was drilled to slow the game down, take the full 30 seconds to kick ,play the dead flank and create stoppages. Usually 3-5 minutes of this play kills a momentum against you. You can then regroup,go back to the game plan and score. A forward structure also helps!!

If this is not working you put your best player down back as a loose player and in the Swans case this would be Goodes. If the ball isn't going to your best player ,you send you best player to the ball. Luke Hodge did this beautifully in the GF the Hawks won largely through good coaching.

The Swans of 2005 and 2006 did all of the above but like some of the anti Longmire opinions, you don't see that much of these basics anymore. Is it just as some have said, the players are crap and didn't follow the plan or was the plan at fault? Both sides of this argument have been presented in this thread. IMO the best plan all year was against Collingwood ,a game we could have won if some experienced players hadn't had appalling lapses. I agree ,its hard to see what our current plan was against Richmond but I do think Mick Malthouse might have had more to say to the players after the game than Horse did.I also think the axe must be wielded as too many of the older players are in a comfort zone.

Can you share with us all the transcript of what Longmire said to the players after the game (and during the game review yesterday afternoon)?

There was some talk at the time about what was said after the game by Mick to his lot on the Monday night footy show which we generally get at about 1am although last night it was 11.35pm. I was up for a change.

LRT is a gun defender. He needs to be played in defence. He is a @@@@ full forward.

Talk of dropping him is stupid. I suppose you think we should drop Reid too.

So you don't blame Longmire for not being able to motivate his team! The players were crap & if you'd bothered to read my other posts you would have heard that. Yes I watched the game to the bitter end, unlike some!!!!! About the shepherding all the good sides do it or protect the body of a team mate, times change coaching styles should change with them. By the way Al I believe you were at the reserves game yoyu didn't even see the game unless you have had a look at a replay.
So you discount the games against the Bombers, Crows & Dockers as winnable and certain players were just allowed to play behind the ball without anyone being swung onto them. If this bloke is such a great coach how come he motivates 6/2 loss ratio in the last 8. Pies & Blues were played in this time but to participate in the eight you really have to beat at least one side in the eight. He's such a good motivator he's motivating us out of the eight.
Yes the players are to blame! Don't think I don't know what capital letters mean on a website or in txt Jewel, so don't yell at me again or I might have to call you names you probably won't understand.

You didn't even see the game Al you were at the reserves & if you watched a replay ok. But if you & the fake diamond had bothered to read my earlier posts after the game you would know I blame both players & coaching panel. I have made no secret that I didn't think Longmire should have got the job, my opinion still has not changed. I also think we should have had a better look at playing stocks at the start of the year (please don't do the Braddy & B2 had to retire routine again). I was never sure of getting a bloke like Braddy in the first place with maybe 2 good seasons in him, with Brissie knowing he had problems with his knees. I always believe we should be looking to the future & not the past, yes we can learn from the past and move on.

By the way Jewels are you a bigger expert here than any else? If so go and coach a footy team instead of putting @@@@ on other supporters on this forum as I have as much right to my say as you do. What the @@@@ gives you the right to totally yell at me in Website talk by using capitals? I have as much right to my opinion as you no matter how wrong you may think it.I quite frankly think your opinions stink sometimes but I don't yell at you. I at least keep some decorum & I don't call people names or malign players to the point of calling them derogatory names like some here. I have never called Horse a derogatory name (not even Donkey), I am just openly anti the bloke as coach!!!!
