I really think that over the last few years we have failed to beat anybody above us on the ladder (positions at the time of actually playing them). This means that we have usually finished up exactly where we should have. Because of this, I would suggest that Longmire isnt all to blame here as we have a history of this. I guess the fact that we are now losing to teams below us is a problem, though.

We definitely need changes. We lack a dominant forward since Barry Hall departed and from memory two players have kicked 4 goals in a game this year. Suggestion. Give Seaby
a start at full forward where he presents a target who can take a contested mark, is agile and not a bad kick. A back up with TDL starting in a forward pocket.
Jetta is lost at the moment and lopes around so let him run the year out in the reserves. Malceski in for Kennelly and Bevo for Jude if he is injured.Comment

Wolfy, I'm sorry if you took my text in capital letters to mean yelling, it was not intended that way, more to emphasise my point, so for that I apologize.
I did say in my post that Longmire and co could very well take the blame for the lack of interest shown by the team on Sunday as I do think motivation is part of their responsibilities (I damn well wish they'd called me into the rooms at half time, I'd have motivated them).
I started the season pro Longmire, I trusted Roos and the board to know what the best thing for Sydney was, I actually still believe it, it just doesn't seem to have progressed as smoothly as I had hoped and has resulted in a very dis-jointed season that has gone steadily downhill since about round 6, resulting in the humiliation on Sunday.
So Wolfy, I'm sorry to have caused offence, you are of course entitled to your opinion as I am mine and I will try to play the ball a bit more in future and not so much of the man.Comment

Really nice post Jewels kudos to you, we all get abit heated and can take things personally (I for one have done the same). We are all actually wanting the Swans to do well but disagree how we do this. I get upset when my fav players are attacked but really they are big enough and ugly enough to look after themselves except for Goodsey (not ugly at all lol). Good post. Go Swans. PS...I know this was for Wolfie wanted to say someting about post. Tyvm
What you say is quite correct, in the end we all want the same thing - the team to win (or at the very least try)!Comment

I reckon we need to shake the team up with fresh blood. NO point going into finals as is, that is if we even make it, as we will get knocked out straight away. Might has well give the youngsters some experience. Would like to see somthing like this on the weekend.
TDL Seaby Meredith
Gordon Reid Johnston
McVeigh Goodes Hannebery
Rohan Grundy Mattner
Johnson LRT/TED Smith
R: Mummy, Parker, Jack
INT: Bird, Kennedy, Sumner Sub: McGlynAdam Goodes - The great red and white hope.Comment

Gotta say Im suprised how many people on different threads this week think Pyke is the answer. For a non natural AFL player, he is unlikely to make too much impact coming back in this quickly from injury, particularly as a forward , a position he hasnt played that much of.
But bring it on and we can slaughter horse again for not having a decent forward line yadda yadda yadda.
Its the senior players that need to lift, not the last four selected every week. While it might be nice to think that getting rid of jetta , meredith, (insert name of other young current fringe player) will make the difference , it simply wont. We are where we are because of the lacklustre form last week of the likes of malceski, kenneally, mcglynn, mc veigh (with obvious excuses), bolton, mattner etc etc. If they lift then it doesnt really matter whether its meredith, pyke, tdl, jetta etc making up the final three or four selections. They are the icing not the cake.Comment

Get each Swans player to tell their opposite number that it is a new tradition to swap jumpers before the game..Comment

Outs are a bit more difficult. I still think we've got one too many talls in the team which is part of the reason we're getting run off our feet, I like AJ but a stint in the twos wouldn't hurt at this stage of the yearComment

Kennelly has been a great servant of this club. Any talk of a 2012 contract is simply a dream.
If Rohan is ready this week I would have him in and , sadly , Kennelly out. And that would just be 'hanging up the boots' time.
If they think Malceski is ok to go this week, him for Jetta. The young man is going through the motions recently. His career is at a crossroads. He simply has to toughen up. Granted he has a slight frame, but if he cannot adapt it to a tackling style and to being able to hold his marks , his big time time is getting to an end. He just has not improved enough to justify his spot.
Nipper is knocking the door down as well...even more pressure on Jetta.Comment
