I think it's safe to say, with the players selected there is no way we will beat the saints. I'm looking to next year, hopefully by then they'll have worked out that you need the best performing players to be able to win a game.

Are the selectors stupid or ignorant? How the hell can ANYONE in their right min, drop Parker, who has been one of the few decent players over the last couple of horrible games, yet keep JETTA, who is weak as p*ss, with little to no skill and plays selfish football. Not to mention that it's forecast for rain, so a skinny little guy with zero muscle, is going to be even more useless than he normally is. @@@@@@ing beyond me.
I would be happy if I was the opposition knowing Jetta was in the team, my opinion is we go in 1 player down even before the game starts.Sydney Swans/SMFC "PREMIERS 2005"

Totally agree about Jetta, how he continues to get a game just amazes me, always looks uninterested to me, how must it look to the likes of Parker ect who see him week in week out keep getting a game ahead of them, its been so long since I have been so fuming about the selection of our team.

Typically 2 players who didn't deserve to get dropped, get dropped. Parker was one of our 3 best players last week and Meredith did some very good things and deserves the chance to get to grips with the pace of the ones. He could possibly be an important player in our next premiership team.. Give the guy a decent chance!!! Mattner and Jetta must be amazed that these clowns keep selecting them! And McGlynn might need a message sent after several quiet games and some truly terrible forward defending....and Bolton was terrible (apparently because of an injury) so could do with a rest.
I don't know, I homnestly don't :-)Comment

Parker played for one quarter. Meredith snapped a decent goal and that was about it. Mattner was one of our best. McGlynn and Bolton are two of our most important players. Jetta was lucky, but we were so bereft of pace last week I am not surprised the coaches have retained him.
Parker's omission is totally confusing. He is one who actually showed the qualities that used to be part of the Bloods Culture. Meredith has been unfairly treated too. Can't understand selection and there has gotta be some unhappy campers around.Comment

ie: Chase, pressure and tackle, get to plenty of contests and have an impact....Jetta, so far, has done none of these things.
IMO, Really, really poor selection, he should of been dropped...Parker shouldn't of been.....

Oh, if only the selectors had the insights that are shown on this site. If only they were privy to the training, set ups and KPI's that the players performances are based on. If only they had the football nouse and experience that is so obviously evident on this board. If only they had the progress of our footy club as an objective. Oh, if only they could be like Malthouse and then, even with our list, a premiership would be just a cakewalk. If only they would read Red and White Online to get some sort of understanding about the intricacies of AFL footy. Oh, if only ......Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.Comment

I am officially bamboozled by these changes.
Having played and watched footy for 45 years I almost rated myself as having an idea about the game and what constitutes a poor, fair, good or great performance. This afternoon I have to admit I have NFI.
What do you tell Parker and Meredith this week ? Head back to the twos and rip into it like Nipper and Bulldog. Hey TDL you need to apply more forward pressure just like we did inside 50 last week against Richmond 4 times. And LJ we are thinking of giving you 1 more game soon mate - keep up that confidence. How could you honestly look players in the eye and provide them with instructions on what is expected when they have just watched several players repeated avoid the axe with performances that fly in the face of all that has been said to them.
I feel somewhat confused and frustrated at what has transpired over the past few months - and have occasionally laid some blame out of these emotions - more recently I have sat back to try and grasp something that I am obviously missing. We know that cultures are born over many years with a consistency of action, an unrelenting pursuit of standards and a fairness and honesty in the communication of the message. And leadership is a top down process that instills confidence and courage in those below. Without culture, without leadership we have confusion. The degree of passion / frustration in the box last week was a concern to me - that is where leadership starts - clearing what is planned is not communicated.
I wonder what the players feel - and I genuinely feel for some of these guys to have to sit and work thru - what appears to me - to be standards for some and not for others.
Well done to the ins - unlucky for some outs - and even luckier to others to have again held there spots.Comment
