My endearing memory will be from one of those pre season games at North Sydney Oval, must have been 04 or 05 (maybe later).

Anyway, there was this guy on the boundary who just kept shouting our support for Irish all game, waving an Irish flag. Every time he touched or when near the ball this guy exploded into fits of ecstasy.

At full time he was bellowing out 'We love you Kennelly, we do' continuously for what seemed like forever but must have only been ten minutes or something. The players were heading off the ground at the opposite end of the ground but the guy just kept singing and shouting louder and louder.

Finally Irish jogged over and I think gave him a kiss on the head or something and guy managed to even more berserk shouting out his name and singing.

    It was bizarre.

    Good times.

Two of his best goals were against the Lions. He hasn't kicked one since 2007. Start him up forward Horse!

Whenever I think of the 2005 grand final win I will remember Tadgh jumping on to Leo Barry's back to signal the breaking of the premiership drought. He was a vital part of that side and a major reason for our superior record over his career. Hope to see you around the club in a coaching role Tadgh and hope we can keep up the Irish connection! Of course that is after we win this year's flag!!!
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

One of my favourite memories too because we were high in the Northern Stand and did not hear the siren. Tadhg jumping on Leo's back was like the siren to us in the stands...it was the signal it must be over.

Fantastic player in his prime and one that gave us plenty of run with his ability to break the lines. Great goal in the 2005 GF. I thought even last year he was still able to load us up from defence when others struggled. Amazing how quickly our game seems to be able to bring down the curtain on players.

When he first started in the big time at half back he was as loose as granny's teeth, and most Swans supporters we spoke to thought his career might not be too long.

            Well done Tadgh..

Thanks Tadgh. A favourite of mine, to be sure.

Thanks for that 2005 goal posted up a bit. That is one sweet blind turn and finish after starting it all way back inside 50.

As much as your contrinution to the Swans, I admire your trip back to Ireland to play at the top level there. Winning an ll-Irish and returning to us was great to see.

I'm glad we can put our torches away and remember Tige for the awesome player he was and his massive contribution to our success.

It'll be interesting to see how he plays for the remainder of this year. Will he recapture some of his verve and derring-do, now that he knows there's no tomorrow?

Either way, congratulations are due on an amazing and blessed career. How often does someone win the highest prize in two professional sporting codes?
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

Congratulations on your great career and managing to achieve all your goals on the playing field both here and abroad. It was a pleasure being able to watch you play over the years and wish you all the best for your future.

Champion over his career. My enduring memory of the 2005 GF, moreso than Leo's mark, or "Here it is!", etc, is Tadhg jumping on Leo's back when the siren went.

                      Thanks for everything, Tadhg!

I loved him as a player.

And I loved the irish corner show - made me laugh a lot.

And i will miss him - the goal he kicked in the GF and as I have said so many times before - ever since he first talked about having to chase the 'rabbit' (ie the oval ball) I have admired everything.

Good luck with whatever you do.

One of my favourite players also, right time to be going out. One of my favourite memories of you is when you streamed down the wing in the last qtr of the 05 GF, even though it wasnt the greatest of kicks into the forward line after the roar of the crowd was huge. All the very best tadhg.

PS we may see some glimpses of his best.....the next few weeks...........what a club to let him go out on the field and as a fighting swan.......his form would have had him dropped albeit the culture of the swans to rise up for him and Jarrod lately !
