    +1 Bas.

They should promote the hell out of the game and if it that means lots of free tickets then so be it. Send thousands of tickets to the schools. Pester power will get the parents to come hopefully.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

If it's a Swans home game you know the folks will be having the best game day experience available in the AFL. Imagine everyone lining up to sing in the VW? The Australia Post photo shop booth, OPSM glasses, Adam Goodes masks.....

Not to mention RWO meetups in Aisle whatever? I never can remember.

I know it's off season for us and we need to talk about something Swans-related but...how about we wait until the official draw is released next month? Then we will be arguing about real games and not theoretical ones. It's not as if the AFL will listen to our opinions anyway.

So with GWS now in, I'm assuming that the same as every other non Victorian state, that we will play GWS twice every year.

So that's 11 home games plus another at GWS home ground plus one at our other home in Canberra, total 13 games?

Will we have Melbourne games reduced or travel less to WA, SA, Qld. I hope it's the latter as I wouldn't want our Melbourne supporters to see us any less.

the gws membership survey i completed proposed an option to have the opening game at the scg out of interest.

btw i also have a conflict of interest as i support afl in canberra by being a giants foundation member

They got two extra games that were finals this year!

My hip pocket wasn't complaining though.

Now THAT'S a good question. As far as I know, every team generally travels to Qld, WA & SA at least once per season, and no more than once if you're Collingwood. If you add those 3 to the 11 home games and the away game against GWS it leaves 7 other games. Do we still have an agreement to play the Dogs in Canberra? If so, that brings us back to 6. Now the AFL wouldn't admit to it, but we seem to be getting closer and closer to a Conference system each year as it is, with the interstate teams playing each other twice and the victorian teams doing the same. It brings extra derby revenue to the AFL's coffers & boosts revenue. What that means in terms of the number of times we actually get to Melbourne is up for debate, but I can't see us having any more than 6 games there next season, and possibly as few as 4.

If you want to support the code in Sydney, fine. But you don't need to buy a GWS membership to do that. You could simply attend a couple of their games now and then.
You've bored us all with this nonsense before. Buying a membership doesn't mean you're going to be delighted when GWS poach a Swan. If I was to buy a GWS membership, I'd still be mighty pissed off if they steal any Swans. After all, I'll still be a Swans fan first and foremost. I wouldn't even BE a GWS fan. I'd just want my name down as a statistic in support of AFL in NSW, and by having both a Swans and GWS membership, I can be counted twice. Pretty much every Swans fan who buys a GWS membership would feel the same.

You seem incapable of separating "buying a membership" and "being a supporter".

AHA! Round 1 and already those opting for dual memberships are going to be found out through Cheer Squad's hypothetical of both teams playing in Sydney on the same day! So, I wonder which game they'll all go to!
