I'm up for it again, but if it's not included, I probably won't be going.Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

To be honest, if the AFL are serious about drawing a crowd and starting with a bang, it should be freebie central.
Start by giving every kid who has registered to play Auskick in all areas of Sydney free entry and either free or a token ($10) charge for the parents.
All Swans members should be allowed free entry with the presentation of their 2012 membership.
They are prepared to sink miliions and millions into this venture, so start by copping minimal gate takings for the opener to ensure a bumper crowd. The NRL-centric media will be all over the freebies when they get a good crowd and all the AFL need say is 'Yeah, we handed out heaps of freebies to kids and their parents who have chosen to play our great game, that's the kind of organisation we are, we will be looking after the kids of Sydney', spin it into a positive.
Bottom line, our game is a game which must be seen live to be truly appreciated, so let's get them there, even if we have to bribe them...Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09Comment

I still don't get how being a standalone AFL game will help much? and again, playing (potentially an easy game) and then a bye is not ideal from a football point of view.
Let the NRL launch in their week, then let the hype build for the S Clash or whatever stupid name we adopt for the GWS games.Comment

From 2012 onwards, any game we play at Homebush is in enemy territory and should not be seen as a home game for the Swans. I hope the AFL assists us in getting out of whatever sort of contractual arrangement we have there and lets us go back to our Sydney home at the SCG permanently.Comment

I will never understand anyone who wants the Swans to play games away from our home ground...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Home games should be at our home ground, and we have 1 of those....Comment

Of course it is - it's in every team's best interests to win their away games comfortably and consistently. I will be stoked to see us win as many of our away games in 2012 at Etihad, The MCG, Subi, Footy Park, Skilled, the Gabba, Metricon and ANZ as we can...Comment
