Saturday Telegraph last weekend (3/12) in Sydney, ran the very promising story on Folau. I think it was featured in Victoria this weekend.

So Master's had to try to dig up something negative. Instead he gives the Swans a whole stack of publicity.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

I hear Paul Kelly signed his contract with a blue pen rather than black so he never captained the Swans at all. Tim Lane is over at Roy Master's house right now writing the headline for RL News.

Thank God Time Lane is no longer on TV. Worst commentator ever IMHO.

I agree with BigAl the draft isn't the issue, the afl handled that relatively effectively by alerting the other teams. The real problem is the possibility that he made a false declaration. In a Transparent and Corruption-Free environment I could see some sort of sanction being applied because if the allegations are true he did gain advantage by his actions.
But as the AFL is a long way from being a T&C-F environment: I suspect that as SPC observes "Jack & Swans will be fine. If the story is correct, then Demetriou is up to his eyeballs in it and given he is the king of denial, it will be quickly swept back under the carpet."

I got excited when I saw some AFL-related news in the Sunday paper in the OFF SEASON.
Got a bit upset when I read it as an attempted jab in Sydney's guts.

GWS = good news. Swans = time to dredge up crap from the bottom of the barrel.

Wouldn't be surprised if that media whore Sheeds was behind it.

Roy's pavlovian response to our sport is extraordinary and of great value to the AFL. I suspect only Only Kevin Sheedy has provided the AFL in Sydney with more publicity than Roy Masters. Frankly Fat Andy should send him an honorarium for all his hard work promoting AFL in NSW . . . . . and then when he started frothing at the mouth again he'd be providing the AFL with even more publicity.

Take it with a grain of salt to its truth (I believe it) but on the other bigger site, this post has appeared in the thread. I'm not sure if I can link, so here is a quote:

                "donnaj1 9.10am 12/12/11
After reading all the posts from the last day, I have decided to go public with what actually did happen 6yrs ago. My name is Donna Jack and I am Kieren's mum.Trust me this will be the first and last time I will ever do this sort of thing.
Six years ago Kieren was named Captain of the U18NSWACT RAMS to play in the National Championships in Melbourne. He was awarded player of the tournament for NSW and was very unlucky not to have been named in the All Australian side, unfortunately, that was the first and last year that they didn't name a player from each state. We were notified that Kieen had been invited to Draft camp. I remember the day that the paperwork arrived in the mail, we were both so excited, We sat in the kitchen filling out all the forms..well me filling out and Kieren signing, as that is what mum's of 18yr old boys do! I took the envelope to the local post office and sent it off that same day to the address in Melbourne that I was given. To this day I have no idea why it didn't arrive.
Kieren then went off to draft camp, where he did well in the 'BEEP TEST" and had a couple of clubs who had shown some interest. He then went on to play in the Allies game the week before the Grand Final, which I guess is a game so that the scouts can get a second look at the interstate kids before the draft. We had a friend talking to Mark Williams at Port Adelaide ( Kieren didn't have a manger we didn't believe in that) and we had also heard Essendon may be interested and we would have been happy for Kieren to go to either club.
I remeber the day of the draft, Garry, Kieren and I sat by the computer hopefull but not confident that a club would see his potential and give him a chance. Obviously it wasn't meant to be, and at this stage we still had no idea that he wasn't even in the draft due to the missing paperwork. We only found out when the swans decided to Rookie Kieren and his name wasn't on the list. So what followed has been pretty well documented. Kieren did sign a stat dec, as he knew I had posted the paper work away. The AFL did go to every other club and ask them if they had any objections to Kieren being picked up by the Swans in the rookie draft ( also giving them the opportunity to pick him up as well) and they all said no. And the rest is history.
I would never do anything wrong, illegal or unethical by my boys or my family. Football is important but it is not everything, and if it hadn't worked out with the AFL, who knows Kieren probably would have gone to play in the VFL or SANFL or even gone back to play RL.
To Mr Lane and Mr Masters, you have no credibility as journalists or as human beings.Only the two of you know the real motivation for writing such a viscous negative story. Perhaps next time you will both do your homework a bit more thoroughly and write the facts instead of making up things and telling blatant lies.
Thankyou to those who have supported Kieren, I know it has meant a lot to him as it has to Garry and I.

Pretty hard for wankers like Masters and Lane to argue with that. Well done Mrs J.

So Roy is outright lying about the conversation with Jack Snr regarding the email sent to the AFL. Garry is pretty well liked and respected in the NRL community and this will not go down will them.

Spot on Al if Roy is outright lying and he would be well aware of that fact I'm sure. Whilst Roy may upset non RL people with his opinion articles, or you may even think he is a downright wanker, I have never seen him taken to task about a direct misquote like this. It's never a smart thing for a Jurno to be lying about a quote, but especially when you are named as the source of this quote. I wasn't present at this conversation, but I would be surprised to find out that it was a complete fabrication.

Good for you Mrs Jack. Respect. And I have a lot more of that for you than for the other ........... we have to deal with in Sydney.

I watched your face during the B&F when Kizz got the accolades, and holding up your phone so other family (I surmise) could hear his speech. Both you and Gary looked like you could burst a poofle valve with pride. That is the kind of support that should be acknowledged and respected. Not the negative expletive expletive expletive ridden expletive that you have to put up with because Roy Masters doesn't like AFL. Wait until there are two Jack brothers at the club. The expletive will probably hit the fan again, and you will get massive support from us bloods - always.

PS: I used to fancy your husband something awful when I was sixteen.

PPS: I sometimes wonder if mums look at their athlete sons every now and again, and wonder "did I grow that!".

PPPS: Thanks Mag for posting Mrs J's reply.
