I wrote in a post last year (couldn't find it after searching and I can't remember the game) but at the Reserves Lakeside game, pre main game there was a Father and Son U.S Basketballer types that Swans Officials were taking around. So if it wasn't him it was someone else. They had tracksuits on with reference to a U.S University.

I remember you pointing them out at the game Bas. I would say it was Alex and his old man having a look around.

Happy New Year to you too. If it's this Friday I can make it. Looking forward to Big Al's disguise this year. Perhaps a large rain drop.

Had dinner with Don and Anne last week as they are up here and they are both well. Unfortunately, they are going back this week and won't be here on Friday.

I hope we get some dry weather after the torrential downpour this afternoon.

Can someone convert the 4.5sec 40 yard dash and 38inch vertical leap into something i can understand, and maybe compare it to the top 10 results in last years draft camp?

                  Yes, I am very lazy

The jump is 965.2mm. The run equals 4.5 seconds for 36.57 metres. That works out to about 2.46 seconds for a 20 mtr sprint. I dont know how this compares though...

the 96.5cm jump would be the highest of last years draft by 4 cm beating chad wingard and the 2.46 second 20 meter sprint would the top by .4 of a second something to me says atleast the latter is wrong.

the vertical leap would have to be running not standing because he would of beat the competition by 18 cm.

I agree on the sprint time as it would take 5-10m for him to reach top speed so I'd say it would be closer to 3 seconds over 20m... still very impressive.

Talented US college basketballer Alex Starling has been signed by the Sydney Swans after testing showed he had the athletic potential to make the switch to the AFL. Starling, 22, is finishing college in Florida but will make several visits to Sydney this year to meet with Swans’ coaching staff and develop his football skills. He has been signed under the AFL’s International Scholarship Scheme, which will allow him to both train with the Swans and complete his four year degree at Bethune-Cookman University.

Not sure if this clip has been on here.

                            Imagine him at FF

http://www.sydneyswans.com.au/news/n...8/default.aspxThe kid sounds enthusastic, looks to have some skills and his athleticism is unquestionable. He could potentially be awesome! Potentially.
