Here's the next installment from Alex:

Sounds pretty good to me. I'll be fascinated to see how he develops.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He sounds extremely promising! I have a good feeling about this bloke from all the articles etc. Love hearing from his basketball coach about how hard he plays! Sounds like he has a huge heart and that will fit in well with the swans! Forget Izzy and Nic Nat! I've got a feeling that this bloke will leave them for dead once he gets his head around our game!!!

Has joined in Sydney seems to be loving it
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

              Check out his twitter @Superbstarling

From what I can gather, he's in/was in Sydney for a week, staying with the Roos family.

Roos is an absolute legend. His efforts for this club, have driven the culture and everything instilled into it. Long Live, Roosy!
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Roos has got an American wife which would help with the translation. But correct; Roos is a legend. Gee they must think he has got something. Pykey mark11 coming up.

Him and Jed seem to have bonded, tweeting back and forth a little. He goes back to America now and hopes to be out here permamently soon.

If Starling had been recruited by any other club the expectations on him would be very very different I reckon, because of the Swans' track record with international recruits I think there's a greater sense of anticipation to see how he turns out. Only the Swans could have made Mike Pyke into a premiership player. Very long way to go, though!

Ooh, I dunno - to use a Sheedy phrase, he's probably got "that basketball rubbish" down pat.

Hang on, I thought he had dropped out. Didn't I read that somewhere, that he had changed his mind and was no longer in the mix? Anyone?

He has stayed the past week at Roosy's. Flown back home now, but indicated he would be back for pre-season.
