I think you just contradicted yourself there.
I don't see any problems at all with dual membership.
Living in Perth, I took out Docker's membership as my "second' team but I also took out Eagles membership to accompany my mate who's an Eagles fan. it was great to watch AFL every week, though sometimes I'd be silently barracking for the Eagle's opposition.
If you want to watch more live AFL(and can afford it) get a GWS membership, make it your second team or just an excuse to watch other teams. I doubt very few fans will switch their number one allegiance.
Having said that, how many people go and watch the local league?
