I don't see any problems at all with dual membership.
Living in Perth, I took out Docker's membership as my "second' team but I also took out Eagles membership to accompany my mate who's an Eagles fan. it was great to watch AFL every week, though sometimes I'd be silently barracking for the Eagle's opposition.

If you want to watch more live AFL(and can afford it) get a GWS membership, make it your second team or just an excuse to watch other teams. I doubt very few fans will switch their number one allegiance.

Having said that, how many people go and watch the local league?

Why is it offensive to question some of our supporters i9n this?

How will we feel in 5 years time when the giants are going for back to back, have signed up most of the talent including players swans have developed and have also managed to steal our supporters? On top of that we, the swans in that same period are struggling on and off the field.

I am gobsmacked at how sheedy is treated. Most of the scribes refer to him as "eccentric" when in reality the guy is a fool. Watch him during interviews..he is just a simple idiot who doesn't make sense due to his dumbness..and that seems to make him eccentric!

I cringe when he is interviewed because basically he is dumb as a door post. Sure he was a good coach when players were instructed to kick it long at all costs, but with the game evolving to the point where coaches needed to be smart he started to fail..no surprises there at all.

I hated him ever since i was told by my father as a young kid about him eye gouging and spitting on south players in the mid 70s at the lakeside..my old man even showed me footage. And then i had to put up with him with the bummers..argh!

I think the Swans will win by lots and I think there will be more people in red and white than in orange and grey when it comes to the night and I think we will be generally pretty happy with the result and I think the weather will be cooperative although possibly a little cool for this time of year and I think it will be interesting to see some of the new GWS players have a run and I think it will be interesting to see how the Swans look in round 1 of the real stuff and I know that plenty of us will be happy that the footy has started again.

We have Goodes but sadly Brain went elsewhere.

So I've been a Swans member since 1997, joined the AFL in 1997 as well and became a Full Member in 2005. Foundation GWS member in 2011 and continued membership this year.

I'm also the President of a Junior AFL Club and have been working my backside off to promote our team and AFL on the Central Coast in the off season.

We had 35 kiddies turn up for our first Auskick Clinic yesterday. A Club record for us and possibly on the whole Coast.

I will support whoever I want and if anyone has a problem with that then guess what? It's their problem.

I think GWS is the best thing for Swans supporters because it means the Swans "should" start looking after their supporters better.

Yes, there will be people like myself who have dual memberships but GWS will never take Swans supporters away unless the Swans give them reason to do so.

The more supporters GWS gets means that the game is growing in Sydney and that will be great for aussie rules.
