    Another positives.:
    Jetta played well.
Richards is the rock of that backline.
Jack will stop running into Mumford.
Everitt won't play next game. Please.
    Umps will improve. Just kidding.

      Swans kick 6 . 14 to 2. 3 in the second half.
A wasted opportunity to put a great percentage on the board.

Great watching the game on Foxtel - no ads during the quarter but an eerie silence after each goal as channel 7 play ads and the "commentators" also take a break !!

Sam Reids big mark early on should be Mark of the Week.

Just need to get those kicking boots right.

Without doubt some of the worst commentary ever. 7 are just a disgrace, even the camera work wasn't all that flash. Some of our blokes looked a bit short of a gallop, especially Hanners, who just couldn't get intothe game. Our last quarter was dreadful, but I think a lot of team s will end up playing scrappy footy until about rounf 3 or 4 when they start to get their real match fitness up to scratch. Everitt should be the first player dropped when Shaw or O'keefe come back. I'd persevere with LRT, we need him to give Mummy a rest, and if he kicks one goal a game it will be worth it

RWOers at the game, what was the atmosphere like? Sounded muted but could be just channel 7s mikes. Oh my it's going to be a long yr with the channel 7 coverage, just a huge step below channel 10.

Gonna be worse when Bruce and Dennis are back.

Not theory. Been proved many times over the last couple of years. Nevertheless, top sides are consistent in their performance against all sides.

I've given myself a couple of minutes to calm down, but I'm still disappointed with the game structure and inevitably annoyed at how our forward line is working. Everitt and LRT are liabilities and I don't mean to say that will great malice. I think Jesse as a full forward plonked in the goal square (and letting Sam Reid be the roaming CHF) would be more valuable.

Anyway, just going by Horse's interview they really did seem to take it as another NAB cup practice match. Oh and Luke Darcy is being extraordinarily complementary - dare I say almost unnaturally so?

To be fair to 7 they have put the game on 7mate and the poor quality, in jokes, and cheap budget do match the branding of the station.

Surely they'll be more enjoyable to listen to than BT.
Did anyone else notice him call Bird "Smith" for the first 10 minutes of the game, even after the 2 early goals Bird kicked?

I think he called Everitt Jetta at one stage.

Frustrating game to watch, especially Q4 when we took our foot off the pedal. Umpires gave GWS every possible benefit of any doubt, frees were like a lucky dip. Ted was BOG for us, Cornes for GWS. Lots of cobwebs in evidence, we moved the ball too slowly, didn't position ourselves to receive and carry, handling was woeful. GWS disposal by hand was generally accurate, seemed better than ours. We looked as if we were on a damp ground, they looked as if it was dry. GwS also looked as if they had some real talent, along with speed and height; they could be a force in a season or so, and could cause a few upsets this year.
Several seemed only running at half power: Goodes, Everitt, Reid and Malceski come to mind. Encouraging show from Jetta, Macca, Parker, Bird, JPK, Jack, Mummy, Rohan, McGlynn, Bolton and Johnson. Others worked hard: LRT, Mattner (despite the odd clanger), Nick Smith.
We'll need to lift for Freo.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I must say that I was very impressed with GWS tonight. They were much more accountable than the Suns early last season. They were very competitive.
I was a bit disappointed with the Swans skills but sometimes it is difficult to play at a high level when the opposition are scrappy also.
Positive mentions to Kennedy, Jack, Richards, Bolton. McVeigh and Jetta. One of the best games I've seen from Jetta and it helps when he's able to finish.
Was pleased that Rohan got back into the game after his early knock.
I thought LRT contested well but was disappointed with Everitt's skills.
Goodes was running in 2nd gear but that's ok. I think he just needs to focus on doing the basics well and everything else will pan out.
No need to be too upset about this match. The young GWS guys would have been treating this game as a grand final. We were just out there to get a win.
