I don't think the commentators on ch 7 even mentioned it once..i didnt hear any mention of it in the last. They were to busy gushing at GWS and at how awesome they were or how "izzy" was this and that..they even showed a reply of Izzy in the ruck with mumford and mummy beat him quite comfortably with a beautiful tap by mummy to one of our guys..and you just hear "look at that athleticism from izzy"

This morning on the radio, apart from giving sydney based AFL supporters @@@@ (they really dont have a clue up there - Tony jones) they mentioned that GWS had won the last quarter.

However, all bets are off now, and I doubt I will applaud another GWS "moment". Not unless it is truly spectacular (like when Ottens from Geelong took a blinder over Jolly....face it , it was a winner of a mark).

I am working out my GWS rivalry now, its not an automatic thing, it has to grow. I am nurturing it nicely though. Starting with Cornes, how dare he be that good!
Don't forget James McDonald's dogshot on Luke Parker, mate.

I've hated Zac Dawson ever since he ironed out Tadhg for that shot 2 seasons ago.

Didn't help as Tadhg was always one of my favourite players at the time.

I didn't clap one thing GWS did. Nor did i go crazy like some of the fools down here when @@@@@ kicked a goal for GC.

The gushing, the favouritism and getting our players names wrong just added to my hatred of GWS.

And Steve Waugh can go jump. Once a swan and now a GWS. Like it how he thinks Bankstown is part of GWS..cause he said he was born and grew up in GWS.

Exactly, I loved Waugh as a cricketer, was one of my heroes.

I have lost all respect I ever had for him now.

Couldn't have put the favouritism from the maggots with the whistle any better either.

A lot of our own supporters used to support other teams but now support Sydney or have Sydney as their second team. I was a North Melbourne supporter as a kid and started supporting the Swans when Edelsten took over.

sorry i have never changed sides and don't see how anyone could tbh. If a side i follow bores me or i lose interest well then i loose interest in the code overall.

But each to their own, though it doesn't stop me from not wanting to understand why.

I was a Geelong supporter first.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yep it was the Crows that got me introduced to footy. Old school Andrew Mcleod flying down wings and kicking goals, leaves a great impression on a kid.

I have always been a Swan although I almost became a Footscray supporter.

A lot of our older fans (those prior to 96) were followers of VFL sides but because they loved the game came along to Swans games. Over time the emotional connection to the club gets strong and they either divest themselves of their VFL side or they become genuine 2 club people.I see a lot if this in the area of the Brewongle I'm in. Because it's one of the most sought after sections in the ground and we have a lot of long term members. We have a Collingwood supporter, an Essendon supporter, an Adelaide supporter, a Freo supporter (not sure if his story but I'll ask him this year) and we have a Geelong supporter.

All passionately support the Swans, pay their memberships and cheer their hearts out at games.

That's the reality of a new side coming into a city. You have to rely on fans of the game for your support initially and then you hope to build support from there.

I was a Bomber supporter until South came to Sydney and my IQ doubled.

I have to say the lady I sit near is an eloquent sophisticated lady when supporting the Swans but a gibbering idiot when it comes to the Bombers. It could be argued I'm a gibbering idiot now, imagine what I was like when supporting the Roos.

Istarted going to games with two of my mates, one followed the Roo's but not strongly and the other the Hawks. I was a Hawks supporter but now am a Swan and so is the ex-Roo's supporter but the other Hawk moved back to Vic and still follows the Hawks with Sydney as second team. I was brought up in Adelaide after moving from Broken Hill and I could have become a huge Crows supporter but didn't. I did in fact follow them the years they won the Premierships just hoping they won not a Melbourne team but not during the season. The Swans until they are out of contention and then whoever is not a Melbourne team in finals we don't play in.

                              2. 1987 v Collingwood 91

                              6. 1911 v University 62
                              Carlton ended up 15th (out of 16), Collingwood 12th (out of 16), Hawthorn 14th (out of 16), University 10th (bottom), Melbourne 11th (out of 12), St Kilda 12th (bottom). So we can expect GWS to come in the last four places. Our positions in those years were;
                              1. Tenth
                              2. Fourth
                              3. Third
                              4. Fifth
                              5. First
                              6. Third

Only one glitch in 1985 when we were bottom four.

And Steve Waugh can go jump. Once a swan and now a GWS. Like it how he thinks Bankstown is part of GWS..cause he said he was born and grew up in GWS.

I grew up in Canterbury Bankstown, around the same time as Steve Waugh, and back then it was the western suburbs and Blacktown/Penrith was the country, like the other side od the world. I hold my support and respect for Steve Waugh, unless he accepted money to follow GWS, then I will lose some respect for the man
