Not sure who was commentating as I too watched without sound, but my old man is of the opinion that Jason Dunstal just does not like the swans and rarely has anything good to say about us. Haven't played close enough attention to him to form an opinion on this, does anyone else have a view on the Chief commentating us ?

I agree but surely all the good thing that he did countered the bad turnovers, kieran jack's turnover from defense was the worst.

I never noticed any major bias just the Victorian indifference that most media personalities have about Sydney players.

Yeah I haven't noticed either to be fair, it's probably just my ol man. Like how the umpires hate us and and rob us every week, and how I'm lazy and don't help him mow the lawns. Crazy old bastard....

The cheif was fine, pumping up Johnson and Reid, 1000000000 times better than BT(Big Turd?) Roosy was on anyway, insightful as always, and Roosy didn't mind giving it to the swans players when deserved

Kennedy what can you say, whats his odds for the brownlow??? could be a smokey playing like that..

This tooo, He is most likely sitting on 6 points as we speak, might be worth a lazy 10 at what would be big odds. Kennedy is the type of player who will poll well week in week out

good win suprised me - great atmosphere at the game agree with comments on who played well. I really enjoyed malceski's game he had a couple of clangers but is not far from his best. Also liked Rohans 1st half gave us something across HF.
Thinking about how we were smashed in the ruck and how quiet Goodes, Rok, Shaw and Jack were the win looks even better. Funny game, apart from kennedy everyone made litte cameo appearances at different times.

I only got to listen to the game on the radio. And then only part of it. In fact I listened for 6 Freo goals and then Goodes' goal close to 3/4 time. The radio commentary suggested that LRT's tackle that led to the goal by Goodes could have been the match winning moment. Stopping Freo's run and shifting the momentum back to Sydney. Was it that good?

It was a super tackle! In the most pressured moment of the game the big fella lunged and rugby tackled McFee to the ground where he dropped the ball. Have a look at the replay or highlights.

Yes, that tackle did stop freo momentum. Always hard to call any one incident match winning, but was certainly pivotal, along with goodes leg break goal.

I'm impressed with Luke Parker's maturity. He was given the job of shutting Pav down when onball. He did a very good job even though it meant sacrificing his normal high disposal game. He did it for the team and that is super from a young bloke to take that sort of responsibility. This allowed our mids to get much more of the ball and Freo for most of the game could only rely on Fyfe. I must say that even though he got a lot of posies most of them were under pressure so Birdie did well.

Just watching the replay now. Have to say how good our coast to coast goal was in Q2. AJ to Reid to LRT to Rohan - goal. Some super clean work, great kicks to advantage and a couple of contested marks. Whilst I know we can be frustrated with our skills at times there is a lot of improvement.

I am encouraged that the majority of the contributors to this thread have presented positive messages. My view is the win against Fremantle was a highly significant and very positive one. I state so for the following reasons:
                                1. Fremantle are a very good side, definitely likely to make the top 8 this year. The real Fremantle is the team that made the final 6 in 2010, not the 2011 team revenged by injuries.
                                2. With that in mind, the Swans failed at the SCG in season 2011 to beat a team who ultimately made the finals, (witness losses to Carlton, Hawthorn, and Geelong).
                                3. The Dockers have developed a good record at the SCG in recent year. I note their near victory in 2008, and their back to back wins in 2010 and 2011.
                                4. The weather conditions for this SCG game was dry and warm, conditions that Fremantle would be used to in Perth.
                                5. The bye in 2011 was critical, at least until July. Last year, for the first 14 times relating to a team coming off a bye the previous weekend, just two recorded wins arose, twelve losses. The week off early in the season means a critical lack of match practice and momentum. I suspect that this impacts on fitness late in a game. The Swans this year had an unsatisfactory preparation to Round 2 with games against the Gold Coast, GWS, and then the bye. By contrast, the Dockers had an extremely competitive hit out last against Geelong.
                                6. Finally, there was the Sandlilands factor, and the absence of Shane Mumford.
