The figures on the right are what bets have actually been traded eg. $10 has been traded at 400, $10 at 360 etc...

      1. Fremantle are a very good side, definitely likely to make the top 8 this year. The real Fremantle is the team that made the final 6 in 2010, not the 2011 team revenged by injuries.
      2. With that in mind, the Swans failed at the SCG in season 2011 to beat a team who ultimately made the finals, (witness losses to Carlton, Hawthorn, and Geelong).
      3. The Dockers have developed a good record at the SCG in recent year. I note their near victory in 2008, and their back to back wins in 2010 and 2011.
      4. The weather conditions for this SCG game was dry and warm, conditions that Fremantle would be used to in Perth.
      5. The bye in 2011 was critical, at least until July. Last year, for the first 14 times relating to a team coming off a bye the previous weekend, just two recorded wins arose, twelve losses. The week off early in the season means a critical lack of match practice and momentum. I suspect that this impacts on fitness late in a game. The Swans this year had an unsatisfactory preparation to Round 2 with games against the Gold Coast, GWS, and then the bye. By contrast, the Dockers had an extremely competitive hit out last against Geelong.
      6. Finally, there was the Sandlilands factor, and the absence of Shane Mumford.
I said in another thread during the week that the game against GWS gave us a chance to ease into the season and that we would be fresh and raring to go for the Freo match. It turned out that way and it may actually be very advantageous to us being able to manage players during the season and build to our peak form. As it is we have 2 out of 2 wins and would expect that we will be cherry ripe for Port next week.

A couple of posters have mentioned players with cramp. Listening to post match comments of all games so far this weekend it has been a common occurance. It may a be a consequence of only 3 interchanges and will take a few games for all clubs to work through the rigours of this change. More than ever clubs that have the least injuries and manage their players the best will be the ones that fare best as the season progresses. Richards with cramp; I don't know that this has happened before.

Nat Fyfe was an absolute joy to watch I have to say, he hunts the balls at stoppages wonderfully- he runs in lines to the fall of the ball really well.

Apparently this was when activating the sub, and the names were in the wrong boxes. AND, it was only supposed to be a financial penalty, not a free kick. AFL says sorry to Swans, again.

The AFL hate to change rules they have recently brought in, for fear of admitting they be wrong, or at the least over reacted. They MUST bite the bullet and change this ridiculous interchange penalty.

We have only had two interchange frees against us that I can remember since the start of last year and BOTH have ended in apologies from the AFL admitting they got it wrong.

The first may well have cost us the game against Carlton (despite a few posters claiming it was Freo and another correcting me to say it was against Norf), coming at a crucial time allowing Setanta to kick the double goal and give Carlton the lead. This one came at as crucial a time, in the middle of a Freo fightback and put even more wind in their well rounded sails.

              Not good enough...

Well at least they have admitted a mistake but what a balls-up..a goal for a paperwork error...yes I have resorted to the controversial roll-eyes emoticon...that's how ludicrous that situation is.

Next they will be wanting the paperwork to be submitted,in triplicate, black ink, and in five languages each time a player changes over. It will get crazier - you just wait and see!

It was the change over for Peb and Hanners. You know, number 5 and numb er 4. oh good grief.

So did we win by 19 points instead of 13?

What if the goal won Fremantle the game in the dying minutes, would they overturn the result?

If they relied upon the siren gate proceedence from the 2006 Saints-Dockers game in Tasmania the AFL would have no choice but to reverse the decision.
Back to reality, come someone explain HOW such a mistake at the SCG could EVER have occurred in the first place.? What is the standard IQ for these interchange officials?!!

I would have thought it was the interchange officials job to ensure that the paperwork was right, not to just hold up his little flag because it is wrong.

Are we sure the interchange official wasn't Ray Chamberlain?

Good point it's like the interchange bloke is acting more like an auditor just waiting for a mistake to be made rather than making sure that transition runs like clockwork which is what his job should be.
