    Nick Hornby - Fever Pitch
I saw alot of myself in his descriptions of both the crowd and his own experiences. I also follow Arsenal (dont ride the bumps in the same way I do with the Swans) so it was a great read.
He ate more cheese, than time allowed

Even a damn good, hard fought Swans win doesn't seem to placate the negative nellies on this site lately.

We are 2-0 for goodness sake, that's pretty damn good in my book.
It's because our skills are bloody deplorable most times, yet we still manage to win! I watch collingwood, hawthorn and calrton and see how well their disposal is, especially hawthron and then watch us play..and bloody hell the turn overs!

It's likie we force other teams to play at our level and then we somehow win!

On Sat it was the same...no way that was the same freo that beat geelong the prev week!

These days if the swans are not playing in melbs i just wait for the reply as the game pans out exactly the same every week. So i just wait for the download and then watch say 2nd and 3rd qrts and skip the 1st and 4th as they are usually our worst qrts.

Just watched the replay. Some commentators reckon Freo was stiff. We dominated up until the last 7 minutes of the 3rd quarter. Then controlled the game for the first 10 minutes of the last quarter. We then stopped Freo from scoring for the last 5 minutes. Pretty good result I thought given we were out on our feet.

A poster gave it to Mcveigh for not being hard at the ball. Gee he appeared to be the opposite. He misjudged a marking contest in the 3rd quarter only because of the wind. Is that his sin?

I thought Jack was almost BOG in the first half but faded a little after half time.
Rohan looks to be a player who hasn't got the fitness base yet as a young footballer, yet Johnson goes all day and played 100% TOG. Rohan seems to have it all so lets hope his fitness improves as time goes on.
Neil Cordy had Jetta as his best. Couldn't agree but his 2nd half was very good and his disposal has improved.
On our disposal; they all seemed to have a clanger kick. It was the ones that go over the head when the player receiving is 10 metres clear that got me.
Overall I couldn't see that we had a passenger apart from ROK who was clearly short of a run.
For a short time our tackling dropped off in the 3rd quarter, but for the rest of the game it was superb as was the pressure, but what stood out for me was how many players we got to the fall of the all over the ground.

We just havent got the foot skills to attempt little cute hawthorn style passes. Gee the hawks have to be the most skilled side..that little angry man must have got them to kick low bullet passes all pre season.

And having more left footers help. I always thought left footers to be more skilled than right footers and they make kicking look classy..look at mark bayes years ago and everytime he kicked the ball it was like he was gliding..looked so nice.

Unfortunately, this is pretty much spot on.
How often we miss a target when not under pressure almost makes me cry.

Before his 15th Knee reco, Malceski had the most sublime boot, possibly almost as good as Bayes, but we rarely see it.

Yeah Malceski is just an ordinary player these days. I wish we could see the sublime kicking of 2007-08..sadly we never will again.

And yeah even when we switch plays the ball is always short or missed the target.

We should open up a bakery as we are good at turn overs!

Our third quarter is always our worst what are you talking about. The first and second are worth watching most times. Sometimes second and last. But third quarters are woeful.

Yes he is now. When was the last time he did anything worth remembering?

He did some beauties on Saturday and I think is coming back to his best. So don't worry Scott he is coming good.

After watching teams like hawthorn, geelong, carlton (sigh) collingwood and now west coast..watching the swans is now tedious. I never thought in my life as a swan i would say this..but i hardly get excited no more and nor do i get the anxieties before each game like i used too.
