Were you even at the game on Saturday? Mal played really well on Sat! Not only that he was pretty good last week, a little wayward at times but plenty of it. He was in good kicking form on the weekend!!! So don't knock him as he is putting in. Knock the real offenders, Reg, Shaw (usually a lot of posies some clangers), Goodsie's disposal was crap on the weekend. There were a few others but Mal wasn't one of them this week. Sam up until this week was crap for goal but came good this week. Benny still needs to kick straighter. Lukie has been slightly off (no wonder! If I had a fractured head I'd be off too). He speared a beautiful pass that resulted in a goal and kicked one himself.

In 3 weeks time after we beat Port and North at 4-0 we come up against the Hawks. If that doesn't get you excited its time to check for a pulse.

Maybe! But knowing we are 6th-8th placed team with no real threat to others puts a damper on things. I used to full of optimistic hope..but not anymore.

Ok roosy..I don't have foxtel ( i will never pay for TV) and i am in melbourne. I don't own an old school radio and streaming games is a no no due to rights. So i watch the highlights on the news (usually shows 4 goals and thats it) or wait for the toreent..by then i am over footy for the weekend so i watch patches.

Thanks AFL. You have turned me off from watching my own team.

Go to the pub, bit hard to get a gauge of things from the highlights. Your right we are a 6-8 team, but Im excited by the possibility we'll improve on that. Haven't shown a great deal just yet ( we're still lacking in the same areas we were last year) , but we're 2-0 with I believe a lot of Improvement left in us. That's a pretty exciting position to be in I'd say.

And having more left footers help. I always thought left footers to be more skilled than right footers and they make kicking look classy..look at mark bayes years ago and everytime he kicked the ball it was like he was gliding..looked so nice.
This shouldn't be true but it does seem to be. I was watching the highlights of Hawks v Cats last night and the same thing occurred to me. Watching more closely though, it looks to me like lefties kick with a slightly different technique to righties. It's not quite as orthodox and lends itself to the low bullet style you're talking about. Of course I could just be dreaming it.

Ahh great stuff! Will start to use it! Again the AFL could do a little more in promoting this..but hey that would make ad happy ch 7 angry i suppose. Thanks!

I don't like the pub, especially down here in vic when the swans play. No one rates them in my area to begin with ( i am usually the only one - i live in ballarat - collingwood/geelong country) and usually it's too loud to hear anything.

Some of the best sport people in the world have been lefties. The bullet passes come with technique..most of our boys have a bloody follow through where the lefties at hawthorn don't.

I have Fox so I haven't tried so not sure. The ABC should be ok. Interesting interview with Josh Kennedy on the SEN site if anyone's interested

Freo supporters are ropable about some of the umpiring decisions (or non-decisions) on Saturday ( AFL: Swans' interchange penalty incorrect | The Roar ) which is heart-warming after the Chamberlain debacle in the corresponding match last year!

                            This forum needed more pessimism..

There's a lot to be excited about, we don't need them to be a top 4 side to be excited about the future.

Reid gave us another glimpse of his incredibly bright future on the weekend.
Jetta is now using his speed more often and kicking accurately. Not to mention sticking tackles.
Kennedy is going up another level which allows Jack to play the attacking role that he does best.
Rohan might need to improve his fitness but the kid is a gun.
Malceski is getting back to his best.
Parker is Jude MKII but with superior skills.
AJ and Ted are still rocks down back.
                            Mummy is still a beast.
There's talent like Mitchell, Lamb and maybe even Armstrong waiting in the wings.

The reason I watch football is because I love the Swans and enjoy seeing us build a side capable of winning a flag. I believe we're well on the way to doing that and just need a little luck along the way.

Yeah you could say that..but we have a massive amount of improvement ahead of us..and then we have developing teams like GCS and GWS, who are bad now but in a few years time they will dominate.

All this with teams like Carlton on the up and up and then our naughties nemesis West Coast also improving out of sight.

Maybe once we get Mitchell going..he could be that mid we are so craving and needing atm.

I guess i better stop watching the top teams all together and just watch the swans. That way i can kid myself that we are up there with the big boys.
