Are we contenders in 2012?

Jones clearly doesn't think much at all. What does anyone who watches a couple of games each week, as well as highlights on the news, and keeps an eye on the ladder actually learn from this article. Absolutely nothing.
How's this quote?
"chances are Kennedy will burn out or get tagged into oblivion as winter progresses."
Virtually his only attempt at providing any real "insight" and he gets it horribly wrong.
In 2010 and 2011, Kennedy played his best football at the end of the season and there is no reason to think differently this year.
As far as tagging him into oblivion, there might be the odd week or two where he is kept quiet but you cannot consistently tag out of the game a player that goes where he goes and gets the footy in the way that he does, without giving away plenty of free kicks."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

As I said earlier in this thread (I Think) I reckon we need a full forward...not just a ruckman as a second tall...1 minute into the Norf game and I was truly excited about out top four prospects... I excitedly turned to my mate....
"Look we could use Gary Rohan as a full forward...tall, mobile, great kick, great forwardpressure chase and tackle, he's exactly what we.....oh ****...."

Reserving my judgement until after the hawks game and not getting at all carried away with our current 16 points.
Statistically we've had the easiest run in the AFL through the first 4 rounds, only facing teams with a combined 88 premiership points last year - none of whom played finals footy. And we've been fading badly, winning all 4 first quarters, three 2Q, two 3Q and only one 4Q.
The team with the toughest draw so far has been Richmond, having already played Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne and Geelong. Dare I say with that sort of draw we'd probably be 1/4, and probably with a worse percentage than the Tigers 95%Last edited by nicko18; 25 April 2012, 11:16 PM.Comment

Bit of pessimism creeping in, I guess we'll have a better idea after Sunday, but even if we beat the Hawks by 100000000, melbourne media will be saying the Hawks had an off day blah blah, and in all possibility we could get beaten by Richmond, stranger things have happenedYou can't argue with a sick mind - Joe WalshComment

just making the point we've had a comparable rails run and I'm not prepared to get carried away with the top 4 talk yet. Look if we belt hawthorn by 5-6 goals then I will start getting carried away. Teams like Richmond will be a yardstick of the finals fringe and the comparison is drawn for perspective.
At the end of the day you can only beat the teams put in front of you. I counted the freo/north games as 50/50 so expected a 3-1 start. We've done that and more but we have to play some contenders to see where were atComment
