    Smiff

    How important was his influence?

Settled AJ when he came on, a few score assists, and gathered 14 disposals. The best sub effort we have managed .

His influence on our structure and confidence/organisation cannot be underestimated.

Intelligent, poised, courageous. Impressed by his immediate positive impact returning from a disorienting injury. Fantastic player; welcome back!

Every time he went near the footy, you felt confident the Swans were going to come away with it. A lot of things came together for the side in the second half but his injection into the game had a remarkable impact.

He was a godsend. O'Reilly said it best. His football intelligence is brilliant. He's one of our very reliable players. Josh Kennedy and Ted Richards are of the same ilk. As supporters you are calmed when they have the ball in hand because 99 times out of a 100 they are making the right decision and making the right play.

Our backline missed him incredibly in the first half.

He is still an incredibly underated player by so many in AFL circles. The boy is class, and what was great today was he did it playing in a more attacking role than usual.

I have been hanging out for him to get a run in the Mid. How good was he?

So bloody underrated our smithy! Love him , all class.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Classy player and courageous. In the last quarter he made a spoil near the centre, the ball went our way, he had an opponent running at him and was between 2 of them. Went straight for the footy beat them both and the result was a goal.

During last year's Hall of Fame I'm sure I detected a slight grin when I told him he was our 'quiet achiever'.

Straight back into the starting 18 next week, they probably just wanted to ease him back in after a layoff. Proved himself more valuable than gold.

That is what I was guessing too.
Wouldn't want him off the field for too long.
