Anyone see the Cyril Rioli interview on the TV at the weekend. I couldn't hear it but I noticed the school photo of Cyril had Nick Smith quite clearly holding the cup directly behind him. Did the commentators even mention that?

That list is what is so exciting about this team - to make it even more exhilirating put the number of games they have played next to their ages.
Smithy: 23 (55 games)
AJ : 20 (25 games)
Parker : 19 (18 games!!!)
Hannebery: 21 (57 games)
Jetta: 22 (45 games)
JPK: 23 (66 games)
Reid: 20 (29 games)
Mummy : 25 (63 games)
Bird: 23 (67 games)
In terms of AFL experience, they are all babies that are still on or are just losing their training wheels! The upside potential is enormous, especially if a couple more of the younger guys (Lamb, Cunningham, Mitchell, Lockyer) can kick on like these guys have. The future is bright.
Its hard to believe Nick Smith has only played 55 AFL games. Plays more like a 150+ gamer.
And nothing needs to be said about Luke Parker that has not already been said .... his papers are simply stamped "CLASS". And to think we got him at No 40 in the draft"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Everyone knows I bashed Smithy in his first season but this is when I am glad I was absolutely wrong about him. After last season he showed his worth and this season he's continued that. Bird and Smith in particular are the quiet achievers on the club. Everyone's been talking about the other players but those two in particular have been part of the lynchpin this season.Comment

This may sound odd, but in regards to the age of the players. I think it's the fact that Parker has a late birthday (October) that always throws me. Unlike Hanners and AJ who have early birthdays (Feb/Mar). When usually it's the opposite way around October b'day lead to being older (like Sammy, even though he debuted at 18 as well), Parker is one of those on the opposite end of the spectrum.Comment

He's got some class that you dont normally see wen he's doing a lock down job. Rarely gets beaten one on one.Comment

Agent Smith, definitely one of the first picked by the coaches.... a brutally underated player in the AFL.Official Driver Of The "Who Gives A @@@@ As The Player Will Get Delisted Anyway" Bandwagon.
