Yea not trolling its a valid observation given the fact the kid hasn't nominated us yet wants to wait to the last possible second to do it , plus Andrew has said he would prefer if Josh played in Victoria but would be open to the idea if he played for the swans. If we do draft him and there four years later he says he wants to go home its a waste of a pick and development for us.
P.s. I like the Roos quote you have.

Maybe we can covert him to follow his dad and be our next FB. Remember Andrew as a Fwd, and took some big marks but improved into one of the best FB's in the game.

Mills injured and not playing in the Allies and Australian U17 game. Hamstring injury. Keays and Hipwood also not playing.

Well what a surprise! Tight hamstring to keep you out of the recruiters gaze - nice :-)

Spot on. As much as I was looking forward to seeing him play, it's nice to know our club is a clever one.

Or Mills is a clever one.

              Or both!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Or he has a hamstring strain...every club has a full dossier on him. They don't need another look.

They have already made up their mind he will cost us a bundle of points. It wouldn't matter if he hadn't played all year.

2015 AFL draft: combine harvester: The midfielders

Here are Emma Quayle's comments on the mids (and medium forwards/ defenders) in this year's draft. As expected, positive comments on both Dunks and Mills. Mills is likened (by Thadhghd Kennelly) to Selwood, while Dunks is likened to our own Parker.

Others of interest (not necessarily to Sydney) include Cameron Hewitt, George's brother.

One player that piqued my interest last year in the GF curtain raiser was Stephen Tahana. I have no idea where he is likely to fit into the draft but he defended solidly and provided rebound off half-back. He was quick and evasive and his skills looked solid.

Just on Dunkley, if we do land him, his strength over head is appealing. It frustrates me how many times we seem to get outmarked in the midfield (though this isn't based on stats, just an impression). Jude was a great overhead mark for his height, as was ROK, but it's never really been a strength of Jack or McVeigh (though they can both pull off the occasional grab), and it's one area Jetta's been consistently hopeless at. But with Parker, Heeney, Dunkley, and Mills running around, it could become a strength. Kennedy's decent in the air too, given his height. And while I don't think it comes as naturally to him, Hanners has willed himself to become a reasonable good overhead mark, aided by his courage in the contest.

15 to 25 is what the muppet there quotes him at, imagine we'd take him at 25 but not much under.

He seems really cagey doesn't he? What downside is there to nominating as a F/S selection? I guess it denies the swans the F/S override and allows him to stay in Melbourne.

His old man is a bitter and twisted soul, must be hard for the young lad to go against his father as I bet he is playing all the games in the book.

If we miss him it won't be the end of the world but he seems a good style of a lad

                          bit harsh ?

he might simply want to stay in melb and play footy down in Vic

Yeah maybe, I do know someone that has a bit to do with Dunks Snr and he said he is very bitter and twisted towards the swans.

As for his son, he should do what is best for him

Dunks wanted to play beyond 2002, and thought he had another year or 2 in him. Roos thought otherwise and told him he wasn't in his plans going forward...

So as I understand it, Dunks beef was more with Roos than the club. Though he obviously fell out of love with the club to some extent.

But I don't think he actively doesn't want his son playing for Sydney, he'd just prefer him to be closer to home, at a Melbourne club.

I remember reading somewhere that Dunks senior took Josh to the 2012 GF and Josh, but not Dunks sr, went into the room afterwards.

My guess is Josh will nominate Swans unless they tell him they don't want him.
