And after the bulldust about sliding this week and the dropping of the knees in tackles, the umpires have now forgotten that the head is sacrosanct. Also the hands in the back rule has ceased to exist and players can ride players into the ground and buring their heads into the turf and it is deemed a ball up. When the ball is in dispute with a pack of players there are so many frees that they let it go, hence the regular ugly scrums until a free is plucked from nowhere or they stop the agony by calling for a ball up. Have you noticed the number of times players are kicking off the ground when players are near the ball. A few times kicking in danger has been paid but it has become prevalent. Wonder what the flavour of the week will be this week.

We played almost exclusively around the wings, maybe that is our problem with the MCG. Rarely did we attempt to switch play through the corridor. Jack was one who tried this at times.

That was quite obvious many times yesterday. Very frustrating!!

Also in one of the crazy skirmishes in front of our goal, Parker clearly got wrenched off the ball, without the ball, again no free.

This is a good point. Our preparation for the trip to Perth has been quite good in recent years. Maybe we can learn something from that next time we play at the MCG?

Yeah pretty baffled that AJ is getting bagged. Probably one of the few that held his head up last night.

                  +1

I thought he did a great job. Usually, AJ has to take the 3rd best forward while Ted and Reg take the better two. However, yesterday our matchups were all wrong, so Reg went forward and AJ had to take Miller (who has been kicking a lot of goals this season). To take the 2nd best forward means a big step up and I am impressed with the way a kid in his 2nd season is able to do it, and that Longmire has the confidence in him as well.
I am rapt with AJ's development, and yes he makes the odd mistake, but I've never seen someone play the perfect game.

Yep, I bet that will give him nightmares this week.
A few times he probably could have marked it instead he punched it, but all up he had a pretty good game,

Also both Adelaide and Richmond had players with mullets. i think that's why we lost

                          Ah DamY, we have Beards!!!

Good point though. Now, who do we think should sacrifice his self respect and grow a mullet. Macca used to have a beauty. You couldn't call The Struts do a mullett per se. Needs to be on a forward line so that leaves out Smooch. No, I don't have anything.

Drop Everitt and Reid, sack Jesse White: he had enough chances and can only play well in the 2nds...TDL does better than White in a quarter and a bit.
