The only reason the Hawks are using Roughy in the ruck is because Bailey is injured. The kid, Brock McCauley came in the other week and Roughy spent the whole game in the forward line. That is the perfect scenario for the Hawks but at the moment it ain't happinin'. With us I believe we have to find a ruck who can kick a goal. That id=s what they have been trying with Pykie in the Resies by playing him a good deal of the time at Full Forward.

What is your problem with them mate? They are all either first ruck or second ruck for their football clubs at present! Bailey is injured but if he weren't he would be first ruck! He will return in a week or so I am informed

This is a very good point about Pyke. It seems obvious that Seaby can't carry as much load as Mummy and needs some relief from someone who can actually ruck. Pyke has kicked a few in the ressies as well I believe, so might be a good option, but we do then face the prospect of getting him up to AFL pace again, having started White on this road, might be better to stick with him? I'm a big believer in leg speed, take out 2 of our quickest in Gaz and Goodes and we are slow. Bring in Harry, he'll rise to the occasion. LRT will be back next week, bet money on it, maybe as a defender, I really don't know, but play the young blokes for god's sake, especially against Melbourne, the reserves can probably beat them. On today's performance, changes will have to happen

Is it just me that's a bit tired of the "give so and so a go" posts here? Whilst I think, like many on here, that my team would be a bit different to what the coaching staff picks, I wouldnt be in the business of giving people a go just because they're on our list. You have to earn the right to play for this great team and I'm glad the coaching staff don't give out 'go's' like other loser teams do. We are better than that.

Our salvation doesn't lie in the Reserves. The great majority of our 22 that lost today are the ones that will make or break our season.

Anyone forgetting Pyke has a PCL injury? Forget the ruck. He will be in the forward line. LRT to return hopefully.

We've played 1 bad game in 7 so I wouldn't have thought wholesale changes are the way to go. Tommy has probably earned his first game and I would like to see him get a run.

From reports Sammy was awful again so maybe a rest isn't out of the question.

I would say it was one of the worst Swan's performances I have seen in a very long time. To me it was a lot more then 1 bad game.

Our forward line was pathetic, we lacked effort and there just seemed an overall attitude problem. Turn up and we will win.

We must reward strong performances in the reserves so that spots in the team aren't taken for granted.

Morton, Armstrong and Pyke are all AFL standard players out of the team due to strong performances from within the team. They need a chance.

LRT is essential. I don't care where he plays.

Walsh deserves a chance due to his strong form in the reserves.

Cunningham is that x factor that we lack.

                          Not this tired argument again....

First: Keefe has 6 career hit outs in 11 games, all coming this round you may want to reconsider that one.

                          Second: Collingwood actually began the trend of the tall KPP chopping out in the ruck with Leigh Brown who was a big part of the success in 2010 and 2011. I don't think that proves your argument at all. ;

Third: Each one of the pairings from the other three teams has at least one player that offers much more than just a tap ruck man - Ottens, Hale and even Bailey provide a target up forward capable of kicking 3-4 goals while Cox and Naitinui have value as midfielders and forwards. I don't see how that's different to what we have tried to do with White and even with LRT.

I almost agree with you except for LRT. He was not good against Adelaide, had a good game v Hawthorn but other than that.. Not impressed. Pyke for Seaby, chuck Jude or O'Keefe in the midfield for Parker if injured, persist with TDL for a bit longer and bring in Walsh while our draw is still soft.

I wouldn't make massive changes except for players who are clearly injured or impaired, like Reid

Get rid of Bird you can never improve his lack of athleticism, he cannot put pressure on ball carriers he is so slow and can never be AFL standard

Walsh or Morton might get a look in by sheer weight of performance. Would persist with Everitt, he should have kicked 2, need to work on his defensive side brut does have the talent for Afl
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Agree with Big Al - give Sammy a rest . Not a game in the ressies , just a complete rest for one or even two weeks.
This lad is only 20 years old and is carrying not only injuries , but also the weight of expectation.
