A collectively poor game whilst Tigers were outstanding (particularly early).
The stats reflect it. 3 players with 20 possessions or more as opposed to 11.
I can't recall Sydney having won more than 6 games in a row EVER, can anyone tell me otherwise?
I think we expect a lot of Reid with only 30 games. I also think we tend to forget that potentially 4 of our best players are missing - 2 of them fast mid/forwards (Rohan, Goodes, LRT and Mumford) whereas Tigers appeared to be at full strength.
What really annoys me is the Melbourne media is this week into the Dees, just what we need before we play them....

We are playing in one the evenest comps I can remember where you'll get touched up (and not in a good way) if you're slightly off your game.

We have played some brilliant football in the first 7 rounds and with a bit of luck could have been 6-1 so time to stop panicking people. Fair dinkum, there was less panic on the Titanic than there is in here after a bad loss.

        Couldn't agree more Al.

The forward line's a concern but I had those same conerns pre-season.

We'll bounce back. Unless you're a super team (there's only a couple those every decade), you can't expect to play well every week.

No question there's room for improvement but it would take a sustained period of crappy footy before I start worrying about the future of this team. Don't be surprised if we come out breathing fire against the Dees on Sat night.

The fact that we are playing the Dees lessens the issue we are facing. We wont change anything and have a strong win and pretend like nothing happened only to be beaten by the next decent team we verse.

Couldn't agree more. I think that's one of my main sources of annoyance with a lot of fellow Swannies fans - expecting victory every week and going crazy when we lose. IMHO there hasn't been enough credit given to Adelaide for their fine performance last week, and in particular to the Tigers on Saturday. Sure they're not world-beaters as yet, but the Tiges have some pretty handy players (ie Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Reiwoldt etc) and they are slowly molding into a pretty tough unit. Sure we had an off day, and we are all very aware of some of our shortcomings, but I don't think Saturday's loss was as bad a loss as some make out. I will certainly look forward to a big victory on Saturday night - and if we don't win that one, I would probably then get off my deckchair and head for the lifeboats...

This assumes the coaching staff are mega stupid and aren't aware of the improvements needed and aren't working on them. Rest assured they don't need RWO to tell them what's required.

Beating the Dees won't tell us much but who's panicking?

Nothing wrong with a poke around in the offal or a bit of tea leaf reading for guidance.

Yes Jono, if we get beat by the Dees even I might panic just a little. One thing is for certain I won't come near here for awhile.

How dare you suggest that the coaching staff do not utilise this goldmine of analysis from us experts here on RWO!

You're joking aren't you? The game threads here are comedy gold after a loss.

I'll be pretty bloody pissed about the loss as I make my way home, but a few pages of the usual inmates who seem to be let loose in the looney bins computer room during game time will cheer me up...

I still think we're as good as what we are playing. Not concerned as i still think we are a 6th-8th placed team. It's an even season because more than ever before players are tiring earlier than other seasons because of the pace of the game and the sub rule.

I will though be p off if the dees beat us the same way that Richmond did. Melbourne are the worst team in the comp, worst than GWS and GC.
