Speed is a massive issue. Most teams with speed spread well in these days of zones and we are always being caught out. Hawks did last year tiges do it to us..in fact any team we allow to spread fast and move the ball quickly will beat us!

    Becasue we havent got speed!

@@@@ me, it's got me beat how we managed to win any games with this lot
I'm handing in my membership and starting a petition to get the coaches removed. This club is a disgrace for putting up with coaches who not only don't know what the issues are but aren't doing anything during the week to address them. My spies at training tell me they play cards during training sessions and play charades in team meetings.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I know that it has been said before, but I will say my 2 cents' worth. It is our forward line that is the problem. In the games that we have won, it is usually our mids who have kicked the goals, not our forwards. We have been winning despite our forwards (or lack thereof). As soon as a team stops our mids from scoring, then we simply lose the game, as they know that we have only 1 (maybe 2 with ROK) forwards who can make an impact on the board - this is why they have no qualms double or triple teaming Reid each week. He is their biggest threat and they simply dont rate our other forwards.

Now, having said that, we know that our coaching staff are painfully aware of this, but they simply dont have the cattle. How they must wish they could have put Bevan's knees on Bradshaw to keep him going for a few more years..

            Forward Pressure

Nothing creates forward pressure more than a Forward who can kick goal after goal!
We need to play natural forwards who can do this in the forward line.
            Be proactive,make them chase us!

I'm with you Al - and what have our recruiters been doing lately? Sounds like they have been watching too many footy games, and not looking for guys who can run really really fast. Shame Swans, shame!

Seems like every year we have one or two games that for no obvious reason, are absolute shockers. Usually against Richmond and Melbourne. Normally we bounce back, I assume part of that is determination to make amends for the embarrassment.

So I'm hoping the Tigers game was just the latest example of these games. Hoping, because I fear that we do have a deeper problem of some kind. The most obvious being poor forward delivery (we win plenty in midfield but then just hack it forward in hope) and a lack of key forwards. Ultimately it's pretty simple: goals win games and 8-10 goals just isn't going to win most weekends.

Loving Jetta's work this year, hoping that Reid comes good soon, unsure about anyone else. Have to confess I miss the days when we had genuine forward options (Hall, MickyO, Davis, Bradshaw ever so briefly) and backup from crumbers/sneaks (Schneider, Buchanan).

Oh yes! Or Moore's head on Jesse's shoulders ...
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I am just wondering if you smoke too much of the wacky weed or something! I said in the Crows & Tiges games why don't you look. Against good sides and they are both pretty fast and good sides we get opened up! Simple, have a look at the replays if you don't believe me it is all there. I never said our defence was @@@@e I was talking about us bringing the ball out too slowly. If we bring it out fast we burn and so does Jetts or Hannas! But slow to a contest up high almost all day against Richmond was not going to win the game.

Methinks when Mummy is back,Goodes is back,Reid is fit, Parker and LRT not injured, We will do a lot lot better regardless of game plans.

Personally LRT is not one of my favourite players, but I don't rate White much either. White had flashes of brilliance v North and it changed my opinion of him, but after the Richmond game, it changed back. LRT has given a few "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING" moments at the game, but the last game made me say that a lot (even with my beloved Ryan O'Keefe *sigh*) so I'm not really sure how to rate everyone at this stage. Mummy can do no wrong in my eyes though lol and nor can Luke Parker. Spangher needs to come back!!!
