Well, I believe that Mumford's back problem stemmed from an infection, so hopefully, it might have just been a muscular sore back tonight.

Happy with the win in the end but could have been better.

Dont forget the little push jetta gave to motlop (i think) after he kicked a behind, could have easily been a free against.

Umpire Mcburnie was horrible but he was horrible both ways.

I'll admit that I jumped out of my seat just after Everitt kicked it with little idea if it was going good or not. Was willing it home with every breath in my throat. I'll have no voice tomorrow. AlsO a very disciplined kick from Johnson to put it out wide into space for Everitt to run onto

Problem is he won't get dropped. He is a bit of a protected species. Not sure we have many better options though. However Spangher should get in in front of him when ready. Ideally a fit Goodes should be enough to keep him out and TDL should be in each week and then we can rest our rucks down forward at times for some extra height. All depends on match-ups though i guess.

Mate, Jesse White is a much better forward then LRT. I know jesse doesnt offer as much defensively but against GWS we can afford it. has to come in.
LRT. Lord Roberts-Thompson. He may look like the Munster, but looks can be deceiving.

Non calls are fine and they definitely went both ways, its the inconsistent ones that went geelongs way that bother me. Pods throws teddy out of the way 15m out in front of goal, no decision ( goal to geelong). Teddy throws Pods out of the way 15m in front of goal, decision against us (goal to geelong). Its utter crap, week in week out! But great fight by the boys!

We had many soft frees go our way in the first quarter and I said that it would come back to bite us and it did. Geelong got some very iffy decisions in the 2nd half

More heart attack stuff - really fortunate to get away with the win. Geelong were terrible early and we made them pay, so credit for that, but once they tightened up, we really struggled.

Was tearing my hair out with Longmire's refusal to make Scarlett accountable in the last quarter - he kept dropping back, allowing him to be 3rd man up and cut off offensive thrusts and be an extra man around the spillage. It almost cost us the game.

But, as they say, a win's a win over what it still a very dangerous team.

                    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

LRT is not a forward. Period. He was completely flummoxed tonight. No goals, few marks, floundered around. Nuff's enough. Better for Everitt to stay in the side and bring back TDL. Not tall but effective near the ground.

Still has work to do as a player but he did offer more than Goodes at that time in the game. Also Grundy's hand on the ball after the kick out was the real match winner in my opinion!

Mike Pyke played his heart out, one of his best games. AJ was awesome, Jetta's long goal is another for the highlight reel plus his tackle on Selwood! And lastly JUDE!
                        That wasn't a 1%er it was a 1/2 %er. Great desperation.

Can anyone tell me who was on Selwood in the 2nd half. Watching on TV he didn't seem to be that effective as in the first half.

Completely agree. Losing the weight has not helped Mummy's game and he has dropped form big time. Twas Mike Pyke's best game ever for the firsts. He and Mummy are a good combo.

I am an LRT fan but you are right; when the ball hit the ground he lost the contest. Still it happened with Reid also and we needed a small player running to those contests. It happened early but not in the 2nd half.

Has anyone noticed the last 2 weeks that Jack has been super sharp and crisp in the first quarter, fumbles in the next 2, then gets into gear in the last quarter. A few times in the middle quarters he ran onto the footy right on or just outside 50, but fumbled at the first grab that gave Geelong the chance to close him down. A great gut running footballer.

Nup, rather play Everitt than White any day. Might have to use LRT in the ruck next week if Mummy doesn't come up. May decide to rest the big bloke. Gee his first half ruck work was simply outstanding.

But overall I thought we got a pretty fair deal from the umps tonight.
If Lovett-Murray stepped off his line then so did Goodes. Fair call by the ump, mind you in the last q after we got 50 metres a Geelong player ran metres over the mark on the wing and he wasn't called back. Should have been 50 and when Everitt marked Enright knocked the ball out of his hands and grabbed him. Very close to a 50 call.
