Must have missed that! Great news if true. What part of the ground was this in?

Take out mattner(waters) replace with armstrong.

Theyre missing shuey n embley, were missing parker n rohan.

      Pfff... Injuries...
They were actually missing Schuey, Kennedy, LeCras Nicoski, Lynch, Embley and Waters from their best 18, the first 3 are possibly in their top 5.

It was a good win regardless

Agree. Yeah it was a great win and any win over there is very, very good. But we do have to put it into some sort of context considering their injuries/suspensions. We can only beat who we play though and thats what we did.

Realistically you should only account for Shuey, Lynch and Waters as the others are long term injuries with perhaps Embley back soon and the others no certainty to play this year. Shuey and Lynch both on report so you reap what you sow. In their case, nought. Stiff bickies I say. The team that wins the flag is usually the team with the healthiest list. Right now that is us and probably Hawthorn.

They were undermanned up forward but we also beat their star ruck combination and their midfield. So, tough.

Hasn't Jetta got an incredible kicking boot? That first goal of his was a snap that went 60 metres.

What a great effort against a very good team who played early on like their lives depended on it. Yes the were undermanned and this may have been a point in their favour if we had only done them by a goal but it was 50 odd points. Hardly a weakness on the park and everyone played their roles. Great support by the swans fans at the game , to hear the swans chant later in the game would have been uplifting for the boys at such a hostile venue.
I missed the prematch but was the side unchanged? I thought in Saturdays paper it had everitt as an emergency and TDL on the bench

Mr Magoo, you've done it again. Now you have Rhonda to look out for.

Mattner In, Armstrong Out and Everitt warming the vest until half time. No TDL.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

I'm a little confused about people complaining about Huddo's commentating. I find him to be one of the best commentators for a Swans game. It was Healy that was infuriating. He barely paid us one compliment and if he did they were backhanded. you would have thought he used to play for the Eagles not the Swans!!

Can't agree with either criticism of Huddo an Healey. Both are great. I thought Healy in particular showed great understanding of our team and culture.

If anything I thought Healey came across as a Swans partisan.

I just thought Healy was downplaying the Swans to try & keep the lid on.

Am I imagining things or did Jetta crunch someone in that game? I think it was the last quarter, but might have been the third. He laid a brilliant hip and shoulder at speed on the eagles player as he kicked the ball.

And how good was his last goal? Selwood didn't give him much room and I couldn't believe it when it went through.

I also loved the passage where swans had four players lined up across the midfield and started playing rugby; run up, draw the tackle, handball to the next man, repeat. Must be Pyke's influence. He couldn't get them to use line-out lift techniques on the goal line so he had to find another way to make his mark on the Swan's style.

Hahaha, I texted a very similar sentiment to my good Swannie friend this morning!

So many great plays, I can't remember them all.

Jetta's first goal, just sitting off the pack ready to bomb it 60+ for a goal.
Jetta's last goal, he only needs an inch of space and he's deadly.
Bird's miraculous snap over the shoulder that just stunned everyone.
Pyke outmuscling Glass on one occasion and outmarking him on another. Not to mention that goal, you don't kick those unless you know how the ball works.
Reid's final goal. It showed athleticism and agility and I'm pretty sure he kicked it from outside 50. That boy will be unstoppable!
