Crowd Predictions for Sydney vs Collingwood

We keep playing the way we are and surely with the right promotion, 70,000+ is not out of the question.

Where's Eddie when you need him to stir things up? Fingers crossed it's a huge crowd for our first win against the Pies in a long time.

What's your prediction for the crowd at our next home game?

If we knock over the Suns and Carlton, the numbers will go up even more. I'll go with 53,256

If we beat Carlton, barring a disaster on the Gold Coast, we will be on nine in a row at the top of the table and would naturally draw better than after a loss. No matter what it should dwarf our prior attendances in 2012.

If we win, the Sydney media will have to start taking notice and will talk up the game big time. If we lose, the media might retreat to a "They are pretenders" line. I reckon the crowd could fluctuate by 10,000 on that result.

        Beat Carlton 65,000 - 70,000
        Lose to Carlton 55,000 - 60,000

Based on recent numbers out there at our non-home ground, any more than 50k will be doing well.

              347,000.

Any less would be an insult and paint a clear picture of the damage gws has done.

A few years ago when the MCG was under re-construction, this was the largest crowd in the season. About 71,000.

So if it is close to a top of the ladder clash, you would expect at least another big crowd.

                So a waffle over 50K.

I'm counting only one head per eddiewood supporter.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

You may have underestimated the popularity of homebush. I have arranged to have my ashes scattered there such is my love of the stadium. I am even thinking of cremating myself prior to dying just so I can get in early

Not that I profess to be the guru on these things, but before you cremate yourself you may want to consider a season ticket to guarantee a seat? Thats how I get around the conundrum - and this is not my first rodeo.

How about we all forget about Collingwood and Round 20 until we get past Gold Coast and Carlton?

Because they're away games. Oh, I guess the Collingwood game is too, considered it's not being played at the SCG and its in GWS's supposed heartland instead.....

Will the fact that Collingwood will be playing at Skoda this week will have any impact on the crowd for our game?

If GWS beat them, maybe lol

I was wondering that too - will be interesting to see how many show up out there this weekend for that. Surely a few Pies fans will have elected to travel for the GWS game instead of the Swans game this year. Unfortunately, however, there are a number of Pies fans who live in Sydney. I blame the lax border security at Albury these days...
