Talk about inviting a team back into the game...the 2 goals they got back could be directly related to careless backline passing...& then kennedy kicks wide to Goodes after a mark. Sorry to say but Goodes is off the pace & not fit.
Very disappointing after such a great start. We will need to start thinking to get back on a roll & win this.Comment

9/10 as a contest , 6/10 as a game. Both sides guilty of daft errors . Carlton put us under some pressure , but we did deserve to win it . Jack was outstanding and must be on track to get the most votes from Sydney in the Charlie. It was my first visit and I could not get used to watching the game "indoors". But if the roof had been open , I reckon the winds coming off the water would have spoiled the game. Blues fans bagged their team and the umpiring - typical supporters , really . Casbault will develop into a good player . I encountered no bogans.Comment

Disgraceful decisons
Good win - better that our defence got a fair bit of practice than just have a walk in the park.
Blues have been pretty solid last few weeks, so wasn't the gimme game it was looking only a few weeks ago. And had to beat the maggots again - just like every week. Knew as soon as we went 7-1 early in the FF count that they would be squaring up for rest of the game. Couldn't buy a free for large parts of the game.
And yes, seems the addition of a verified Carlton umpire had some effect!
Now watching the home town umps get the crows back in business. Come on Bombers - finals on the line - surely time to show SOMETHING! ANYTHING!
And lastly (and off topic - apologies!) the bloody eagles get a soft run from the umps even when they're not the home team at Subi! Fortunately didn't matter much!
How can they give such decisions? Carlton player takes on TDL, get caught in the gaol square, doesn't dispose of ball correctly and TDL gets pinged for holding the Ball? WhAT the @@@@! Richards get one arm ripped away in the gaol square while trying to mark, no free kick? Does anyone know why marc murphy got awarded a free kick in front of gaol in the last quarter? Rhino grabs the ball after the ball up in the centre and immediately 3 carlton players tackle him.. Holding the ball against him? disgraceful decisions, I hope we don't get the same next week against Collingwood. Lots of sore players and a 6 day turn around next week. Don't like our chances. Goodsey was not 100% today, Bolton looks pretty bad, hopefully only 2-3 weeks.Comment

Sorry cheer Squad but he has done an ACL. But there are different degrees of ACL damage. If he has just stretched the ligament then it will be a couple of weeks. If he has torn it then he is looking at a bleak prospect. Hyper-extension can also lead to 3 to 6 weeks out. But tears lead to reconstructions and most times if it is a tear then a player will be incapable of standing on the knee. Jude was walking around which means that it is a stretch or hyper-extension more that a tear.Comment

Frustrating game to watch live as the mistakes are amplified.
We were the better side all day.
Our defence beat them hands down and our midfield were winners (I was confident in the last qtr as its usually a fast finishing Judd who gets us).
Forward structure still iffy but lots of contributors.
Great to see a Melbourne Win.
Did I mention we are on top of the ladderComment

Not our best performance- a bit patchy with a few sloppy periods, but what this team has learnt to do (and it is always a hallmark of a good team) is win when not playing anywhere near their best. We were comfortably better than Carlton, despite not playing anywhere near our potential overall.
We did look very sore towards the end- hope the boys back up well next week. A victory against the Ferals next week would leave us on the cusp of a guaranteed top 2 finish with a victory over the Dogs the following week. A massive game- one in which we can make a big statement!
Some terrible home team umpiring as well - but we always looked the better team all day, despite what the dribblers in the commentary box may have thought.
We don't want to be peaking in the middle of August - the end of September would be much better!
#Believe - Bloods 2012!
Kudos to the defenders, especially Ted and Smithy. The midfield stood up well. TDL knows where to be, McGlynn's accuracy has improved exponentially and LRT continues to prove his usefulness. Appropriately, ROK did a good job.
I resolved before the game not to boo the umps, but the call of holding the ball against TDL when it should have gone his way overcame my resolve. Some umps need a bit of outside-the-fence assistance. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. Should be a light week on the track this week with a lot of time spent on recovery. The boys looked tired in the last, and we will need them up and about for Colliwobbles. AA nice win, at a high price, although given it's Jude, he'll probably play next weekYou can't argue with a sick mind - Joe WalshComment

Spot on. They share the honours with Eagles supporters as being the worst in the Comp. Consistently screaming 'ball', moaning, whining and thinking its their God given right to win. I can't stand them, or anything to do with their club.Regards,

I think you're forgetting Collingwood. Those supports and primeval and primitive.Comment

Was at the game today, boys barely got out of 3rd gear all game, but we got the win and thats what matters!!!
B.O.G. for me were Smith(Betts was unsighted all game), LRT, Jack and Malsexy.
Went to the after game thingo in 'The Victory rooms' after the game at the request of a friend. Hung around for what seemed liked an eternity to hear Peter 'Grubby' Stubbs keep telling us that the boys were doing their warmdowns and stuff, and evenyually when they did come, they could only stay for a short time as they need to get into recovery mode very quickly cause they only hve a 6 day break till the next game....apparently this was strict instructions from Longmire, which is good.
Grundy, AJ, Reid, Mattner, Gordon and Mitchell turned up. I hung around, finished my drink and decided to leave. Good decision I did too, cause when I was walking around to my gate to exit the arena, who do I bump into????? THE BIG MUMMY!!!!!.Walked up to him, shook his hand and congratulated him on his game and the win. Went to loo after that(needed to after having had a few drinks during and after the game), re-commenced my walk to my exit gate and then who do I bump into????? KEIRAN JACK!!!!!. Shook his hand(you'll be happy to know I wash my hands after going to the toilet Keiran), congratulated him on his game and the win and left for home.
All in all, a good afternoon.Comment

Paul Kelly ran off the ground when he did his ACL. Craig O'Brien was running the boundary after he did his at Waverly Oval many years ago.. So the fact that he was walking was no indication of anything.
Having said that, there have been plenty of players that hyper-extended with no serious damage. So I think I will wait for the scan results before I start writing his epitaph.
A bleak prospect if he has done his ACL? He only has a year or two left anyway. So if he goes with conventional reconstruction he can still squeeze out another year.
If the end has come, he will leave the Club as a great champion playing at the height of his career. Hopefully , its only a few weeks.Nothing like a good light bulb moment.Comment

Hopefully it hasn't come, but if it has, Jude will have started and ended his career against the same team!!!
