The Pies kicked 12 goals, 7 of those from our turnovers. End of story.

Up until that last quarter, it felt to me like we would win but I don't think you can blame a single person. Goodes missed but Pyke handballed when he should have kicked at goal etc etc.

The only funny bit was when the ground announcer said that LRT had been subbed when he was standing in the goal square. Poor chap got his hyphen's confused.

Cameron Mooney said recently that the Cats prefered to lose a game just before the finals so this was the loss we had to have.

    I'd give Big Ted the B & F now.
Agree with Cam Moody, the loss you need to have at about this stage of the season ... played ordinary last week as well, but our class prevailed against a desperate Carlton, couldn't quite get away with it against a top 4 side ... but ALMOST DID!

They go away regroup, work on what has got them where they are, execute it against the Dogs next week, and then they have a month and a bit of challenges, which will reveal exactly where they are at!

Gotta say, we did miss Reid up front, him and Jude back for the finals, and then if Goodesy can just find his mojo ... it will be a matter of YEAHHHH BABEEE!!! ... we could just about win the whole damn thing ....

... and agree, Ted is my favourite Swan, for a number of reasons

      How gut wrenchingly disappointing!

      Such an immensely winnable game.

      Devastated.

How do you unconfuse someone who is obviously not confused?

Didn't enjoy the game. How can you win a game of footy when the whole forward line is vacant of any person in red and white.

I know the money wants Hombush for the large number of Pies fans, but if you want a stint of losing to discontinue it's possible that you need to make those fans miss a seat. I know it's off topic, but, if you were to make a pies game at the SCG and not let any pies supporters in, it would be a capacity crowd and we'd enjoy all the advantages...
It's sort of pathetic to rely on a perceived venue advantage to win. Geelong don't bleat about having their big games being played away from Simonds Stadium. In fact, they seem to relish playing in front of larger crowds.

We should take a leaf out of their book and harden up.

              Don't be!

Many reasons why we should've/could've won. But it's just our fourth home and away game we've lost. We won sixteen others...

Maybe it time to play some of the forwards we have like spanger/ walsh or mortan or all three would be better then what we had tonight. we must be the only side in the 8 that has no big forwad
This is a valid point ... Morton is a goal kicker ... from what i have seen of him in ressies, I could imagine him sneaking the 2 or 3 we needed tonight when a few of them looked like kangaroos in the headlights inside 50 ... but Reid is the obvious answer. Not due back till R22, so I would certainly give Morton a run next week.

Perhaps it's the lack of concrete that's an issue... I'm not sure, but I presume their big games are routed to the MCG (The same place I reckon we do better at than Hombush ), I was being facetious when talking about moving the game. I do find it amusing though that the AFL fraternity acknowledge the length of the losing streak but don't acknowledge the venue's role.

We have a home ground. We didn't play there tonight. I have faithfully made my way out to Homebush to watch our annual loss to the bogans for many years now and I'm kind of over it. The place has no soul and is now right in the middle of the territory that the AFL has deemed should now belong to GWS. We are not Geelong or anyone else. We are the Swans and the SCG is our home, and it has been for 30 years now. I look forward to when the renovation is complete in 2014 and we have a world class venue where we won't have any valid excuses to not play any of our home games there.

Sad day all round. There was effort, but not footy smarts. Collingwood certainly pressured us into turnovers, but we coughed up the ball a fair few times without any prodding. The forward line was at its dysfunctional best today; there were a few too many passengers. A bad day for Horse too. Ben Reid in defence floating into the space...really the coaches should have been on to that and not let it continue.

We missed a lot of opportunities for goal and at the end of the day bad kicking is bad footy. We looked very fallible tonight, but hopefully this focuses us a little bit more heading into finals.

Special mention to Josh Kennedy; once again he stands up when his teammates don't and the @@@@ hits the fan. He worked super hard and is really inspirational.

Good to see (I suppose in some perverse way) as I was walking out of the ground that the boys looked absolutely gutted and disappointed in themselves. They seemed to stay out and have a talk...can anyone confirm?

Pies did some great tagging jobs on Hanners and Jets. No run there.
We'll be right. The boys know what they need to do to win. They are hurting tonight and will be so bitterly disappointed.
                              Pies aren't all that.
JPK is a genius. AJ is astounding for such a young player. Ted is superb and Rhyce Shaw is such a trooper.
