When a player walks off the ground with 40+ possessions, regardless of the result, he is always happy with his game. It's not his fault he is surrounded by a sub standard team.
It was close to the best individual performance against us this year. We would have won by 20 goals if he wasn't on the field.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Since he came back from the hurt quad, that has not reappeared.
I agree with you that his form is ok, but his body is letting him down atm.
Good signs in the second half today..but I reckon he is really gonna need a long rest thru oct/dec to let the healing complete.
I think having looked at him that it is more a case of also being afraid to move in certain ways. Those are; too quickly, run very fast, kick a long ball (stretches the muscle & tendon), high leaps. He is obviously restricted and also a little afraid of testing it out at the moment just in case it tweaks.

3 superb kicks for goal all from the same pocket.
        ROK, Jetta, and McVeigh.
        How good were they??

Goodes started horrible again, but eventually played himself into the game.
Best I've seen him play for a while in the 2nd half.

He has lost his explosiveness - one of his best weapons. What I do wish he'd do, though, is play within his current limitations. He must know he can't kick accurately for goal 40m+ out at the moment, so he shouldn't be trying. He laid it off once to Reid, when he knew he couldn't kick it himself, but then tried two later on which went nowhere close.
I'm with you Liz. He currently reminds me a little of Mickey O when he first started to lose his pace and distance on his kicks. Once he realised that he'd have to become a different kind of player he was fine. Goodes isn't in that position for good IMO, I think this is something he'll get over for next season, but he needs to manage it better for now.

Agree Scott. I thoughthis first half was lamentable. Poor decision making, some straight dumb play and floaters that achieved nothing. In the 2nd half he was far more positive and appeared to run a lot harder. Maybe he has simply slowed up a bit which brings him back to the field and easier to tag or play on.

On Parker...I thought his first half was rubbish. The group I was with agreed and reckon he has been ordinary the last few weeks. I must say though he really lifted his rating in the second half. He started to find space and was far more effective with his disposals. He ran much harder and dispensed with the stupid nothing handballs that he is prone to dish off. Lets hope it is upward from here in.

By the way did anyone else notice Marty Mattners brainless 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter.

Can't agree, I thought Parker had a very good all around game.

I've been a bit disappointed with Parker's disposal since he came back from injury - too many clangers. But today was much better from him in that regard. Seems to be finding the the tempo of the game again.

i missed the last 10 minutes and culdn't believe the final score...when i left Bruce was saying the swans will win, but they wont be happy with this sort of win...WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the commentators were making my ears bleed...did they ever comment on how well we played the last 2 thirds of the game...seriously the man crush on griffin was ridiculous....

                      now about the game...
we were well and truly asleep in the 1st...and Roosy made the comment last night, that the 3 teams in the 8 playing today needed to watch all of yesterdays games to show that if you fall asleep there will be an upset and i thought the way we were playing it was on the cards..
The 1 positive about the game is that i the last 2-3 years we would ahve lost that game with the way we started..losing to teams to we should have beaten..what was good about it was we contained them and played back into our strengths...and belted them....some players started to play themselves into some form for next weeks game....no doubt BUDDY will be back....
Well done to Mitch great team goal 1st up..in yrs gone by he would have blasted away...but we need to win 1 of the next 2 to confirm our top 2 spot..the only thing that worries me is that our bogey teams of Adelaide and Collingwood we will have to play in week 1 followed by more than likely against the other in the pre-lim...
I think looking at it..it should be a Hawks, Swans GF...damn better start planning ym trip across the nullarbor...(any road trip pals?????)

Parker was ordinary in the first quarter but he wasn't alone. Agree he improved as the game went on.

Agree Scott. AJ is going to be the unsung hero of his day. He just gets to the ball and fixes things. He has his job and he knows what it is.

Parkes worked his way into the game and finished off on a high. As far as I could see. Anyone at the game itself who can comment? I was not sure if Danny and Peb were quite on the states sheet until I looked at my Dream Team points. Honestly, you have to GO to the game to get all the nuances.

Glad Goodsey got his mojo in order. He was sure testing himself out wasn't he. He ran the length of the ground so many times, like a dog off the leash. Especially in the final quarter. Maybe with Sam back and finally MM on he feels ok about leaving the forward area.

Love love love Kizz. And Joey. And Mummy. Smooch. and....all of them.

But I could have murdered the lot of them in the first quarter.
