Not sure. They reckon he's had trouble putting on weight. He's still young and big blokes take time. Look at Hawkins, everyone had him pencilled in as a big reputation dud! I'm surprised Melbourne didn't try Cooky in defence. He went to CHB at times for the Ballarat Rebels and did well. He's a gentle natured sort of a kid and perhaps all the Neeld huff and bluff didn't suit him. His work ethic is unquestioned - he was up before 6.30 every morning either running or in the gym. Plus he did well in his studies. A model citizen.

Why would you delist Lamb when he's finally starting to show some form after just two (injury-hampered) seasons?Comment

However given any more injuries combined with the emergence of other players (Cunningham, Mitchell etc), he could well be gone at the end of next year unless he really turns things around.Comment

Despite the low regard that many have on here for Jesse White, I would imagine that he will be on the radar of many clubs. Collingwood is forced to play that dud Dawes because they can't find anyone else that can spell Jolly in the ruck. This ruck-forward role is becoming the most important one on the field, mainly because it's the most difficult to cover.
Even though Jesse may be a mediocre player, I think he is a very valuable asset to the club. He perfectly fits the mould of the ruck forward. And now that his ruck work seems to have improved a lot in the ressies at least, it would be a big mistake to let him go. If we let both Seaby and White go, we would have a serious depth deficiency in the team that would have to be filled. And you just can't draft some big forward and hope he can step in if Mummy and Pyke are injured. We have a real shot going deep into finals over the next few years and can't leave ourselves exposed to the possibility of ruckmen injuries.
Regardless of the many chances that White has been given, and the frustration of his lack of progress, there is still some hope that he will find his way and fulfill his potential.Comment

I believe this to be true and, also as a direct result of the way Natanui plays.
To me, there seems to be no point keeping both Seaby and White. A possible trade might be to send Seaby to North in exchange for Majak Daw (the next Natanui). He is very, very raw but built like Adonis and would be a good project ruckman. Jesse then would be first in line for a call up and he may just take his next opportunity and make the most of it.Comment
