Wow! Very tall forward line. Concerned when the ball hits the feet...gee we need a good crumbing forward!

Armstrong is unlucky. I thought he was one of our better players last week.

Staggering that Armstrong can put in a performance like that and get dropped. Yes I know he was a late inclusion but it was a pleasure to watch his use of the ball.

They will be busy minding opponents but maybe the plan is for some of the mids to rotate through the forwards. Four goals from (Adelaide specialist) No.21 this week plus three from 15 and two from 3.

Yeah I tend to agree. I would have rather Morton for this reason. I do like Walsh however.

Just a thought for the regular ressies watchers....did Walsh ever play down back in defence? I am wondering if they are keeping him in the side as a back up for defence should LRT or Teddy get stretched? Would be a physical option down back? Or has he never played down back?

                Emg: T.Armstrong, M.Morton, J.White

If it's wet, wouldn't surprise to see a late change of Armstrong or Morton....

A Saints fan I know said he played most of last season in the VFL down back and with success. Not sure he has played there since joining the Swans though ... Does give us some flexibility though.

Don't know how you can say we are too tall now - We are no taller than we have been in the last 10+ weeks where we've played 3 permanent talls and one resting ruckman up forward for most of the time.

Thanks for the info on Walsh Alison. Yes, you are correct in saying about the same number of talls. I probably was not clear in my original post but I generally feel this season, we have been a crumbing forward short. We do tend to have a game plan that involves kicking it long to the tall forwards, however, imagine a fit Schneider still there for example!!! He would lick his lips with all the crumbs!

Didn't mean you specifically - just the general notion! I tend to agree but it is clearly the structure they are determined to stick with ... McGlynn and Jack have had a fair bit of success crumbing goals. When it works, we're a formidable forward line but when it's not quite there, we're very slow to react which I think is the bigger problem.

And there is a fair chance Dempster will win their B&F. Handy player is Dempster.

Disappointed Armstrong has missed out - I thought he was great last week, and he has a better idea of the inner workings of the Crows than anyone else on the list (Mattner played there too long ago for his experience at Adelaide to be relevant), but looking at the team, who's spot does he take? Malceski, maybe; but does Malceski deserve to lose his spot in favour of Armstrong?
On Walsh, I agree with a number of you that Morton would have been a better option. This will be Walsh's 4th, 5th game? Has he ever played a full game at AFL level (ie. not been subbed off)? I know it's like for like (LRT for Grundy, Walsh for LRT), but can we trust such an inexperienced player to step up when the pressure is on? Don't get me wrong - I like Walsh and think he could be great for us, I just wonder if this is a bit too much responsibility to be putting on him at this stage.
I really hope I'm eating these words on Saturday evening.

I realise they need a tall forward to cover LRT, but it really doesn't say a lot for their faith in Everitt and White if Walsh stays in ahead of them. Surprised to see Armstrong dropped; he was more than solid.

I have a feeling that Goodes may spend a lot more time on the ball this week. He has been right on the edge of a blinder. Maybe his fitness is just about right to be unleashed onto the ball. Does he play out of the centre and Jude and McGlynn play forward a lot more? I think we really need his best presence around the ground.
